Coronavirus - Here for life (In high population density areas)

For everyone one of those another one probably beats the shit out of the wife or the children.

Which is why schools being closed is a travesty. Schools are a sanctuary for children as well as a learning facility.

Agree.

Number of confirmed cases in hospital up to 1022 from 921.

Agreed with that but surely they could brought in some temporary measure to curb the sales of cheap alcohol while still allowing it to be sold. Limit the amount one customer can buy at any one time. It would allow those with dependencies to cope and put a large obstacle in the way of house parties and social gatherings and at least be seen to be trying to tackle the issue.

Would it?

Sure you could just go back in twice or whatever

Or hop around to multiple stores. BYOB.

Same as almost all the restrictions. Totally unenforceable.

Yeah Im sure people could circumnavigate it or go to numerous stores and piecemeal a supply of drink together but I think a good number would say whatā€™s the point and not bother and there would have been a bit of an impact. Instead they could buy a stab for 20 notes almost incentivising people to buy the,

This is half the problem. They want to look like theyā€™re doing something instead of actually doing something. Half-arsed over-engineered revolving door of restrictions communicated incoherently.

Iā€™d rather less restrctions that are genuinely enforceable than the hodgepodge ā‚¬9 meal/3 day a week festival of nonsense.

Ex-fucking-actly.

Thatā€™s been the problem all along and why most people here have an issue with lockdowns. Weā€™re not arguing against saving lives but some of the horseshit measuresā€¦

But what can you do. Most of the country are under the bed and you can forget about your take away pints.

Yeah thatā€™s my thinking too Iā€™d rather they didnā€™t close the other shops either but seeing as they are it seems mad that off licenses have survived all the way through. Given they are certainly a greater cause of spread than sports shops or toy shops. The alcoholics who need a drink thing is a red herring there are as many alcoholics who for drying out would be a good thing and the fellas who need it will always get it somewhere. They could even open them less hours. Is there any conspiracy type theory we can attribute this anomaly to?

The less hours canard is fascinating. Someone says something and the nodding heads go along with it. Restrict opening hours means more people in a premises at the prescribed hours means more contact etc. But the base inclination towards control, legislation, rules etc trumps all logic. To look at the matter logically causes the cretinous to shut down and resort to the granny killer covid denier conspiracy vocabulary

You seem very cross.
Iā€™m only wondering why they havenā€™t shut them or restricted their hours when theyā€™ve done the same to every other non essential business.
I donā€™t think they should or that it makes any difference. But if they were to choose only one business to close to prevent people gathering together it should be off licenses.

Iā€™m not cross at all. I wasnā€™t getting at you

Different for the likes of me whose attention span is limiā€¦anyway, is there not something more productive you could be doing with your time. You did a great job on that tiling, there must be loads of better things you could be doing.

Plenty examples of that out there. Doing one thing with good intentions and absolutely no forward thinking around the practical implications of the decisions and subsequently causing precisely what youā€™re attempting to avoid.

e.g. All gyms, pitches, courts and courses closed. Layer in distance restrictions. So with such limited options people are overpopulating the now limited open and available green areas.

How could anyone have foreseen that?

Iā€™d say Iā€™m more productive than most. Iā€™m working away since 7.30, for all the good itā€™ll do. Thereā€™s a good chance Iā€™ll have to try something different soon.

Its almost as if fresh air and exercise are fatal

I canā€™t believe seemingly intelligent lads are calling for off licences to be closed. Ye have literally lost yer minds lads.
