Coronavirus - the deadly virus that no one dies from

It’s very obvious that people going back into pubs or on holidays will anger the virus. We don’t want that. This virus has a short fuse.

There was whatever number, 140 odd, at our match last weekend, and the whole lot of them stood in one spot beside each other on the hill.
You could have let in 3 or 4 hundred people to the same place without them being near each other. But it’s not about doing the right thing. It’s about being seen to do the right thing

Dalo was saying on his pod that there were only about 130 at the Clarecastle match last weekend. Then the word went out by text message and by half time the 200 were taken.

Children can visit their grandparents in nursing homes. But the grandparents can’t take them to the pub for a Club Orange and a packet of Tayto. Ah what’s going on!!!

Wasn’t it 104 that were stopped on foot of leaving the country? 85 out of that stopped incorrectly puts a different shape on the statistic.

(May be wrong on that)

My mate is a pilot in Aer Lingus. AL is part of IAG, which also owns Iberia and BA. The Brits pumping money into BA and the Spanish into Iberia. Nothing from the Irish government in support for AL and we’re the only country in Europe advising against travel, it’s costing IAG 50 million a day.

AL might be shut down for four months and then attempt a relaunch, be would up altogether, or a combination of both with all staff laid off but subsequently relaunched as a low cost airline.

Ireland’s connectivity is fucked if AL folds. The government don’t seem to be aware of this.

Ireland’s Covid travel debate shaped by a peculiar blindness (via @IrishTimes) https://www.irishtimes.com/news/world/europe/ireland-s-covid-travel-debate-shaped-by-a-peculiar-blindness-1.4317074

The Government are going to wait until the last minute.

There is a €1bn+ bill coming from the Semi States as well so they’re holding off on the non shiny stuff.
