I was listening to Rte drivetime on the way down tonight. Philip Boucher Hayes had a report on how the virus was just as virulent and dangerous as it was in April notwithstanding that the fatality rate is zero. All the old people who would die are cocooned out of harms way is the explanation.

We cannot have a societal apartheid is the latest nonsense.

They’ll start charging them for the telly licence next, seen as they’re being indoors again

4.5k per pub.

It’ll do its bit for pension time-bomb as well.

I hope 20,000 people catch this over the weekend.

Source please

No. And even if it was thats still almost worthless. The only part exclusive to real pubs was the 40% top up.The rest was for all bars are restaurants that have been operating for months. So say you’re average country pub is paying 5k in rates, they get 2k out of this ‘comprehensive package’. That wouldn’t come near paying one weeks stock. Dont’forget too whatever stock they had in March is well out of date by now. Its an insult to Irelands most beloved industry

The Micks have an awful problem with drink

Bullet points;

Over 900 excess deaths this year. So half of the dead were likely nothing to do with covid or would have happened without covid but were maybe sped up by it.

The excess deaths are below expectations the last month or so. So less people are now dying than usual.

RIP.ie is a more accurate source of mortality information than the Irish Government
