We’re now at what, 15 or so days without anyone dying with (not from) this virus. Surely the penny will drop soon?

Lads, didn’t they ease up on testing for a while there in May/June? There were anecdotal reports about testing centres being closed and/or only opening every other day, all around the country. So, aside from some high profile outbreaks in high risk areas, could it be that an increase in testing is leading to the (manageable) increase in cases? And it therefore isn’t much more in the community than it was before, despite the recent scaremongering? PS, OIUTF.
Of course an increase in testing results in an increase in cases, if you did no testing there would be no confirmed Covid cases.
A lot of the cases from May were in healthcare workers. It seemed to have gone through them then and we had near zero numbers. We were definitely missing lots of cases then and only started to find decent numbers once it got into the meat factories and there was widespread testing.
Community cases were fairly non existent from late April to June I reckon, we were all still locked up.

51 in Dublin, 6 in Kildare, 6 in Meath, the remaining 32 cases are Carlow, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Kilkenny, Laois, Limerick, Longford, Louth, Mayo, Offaly, Tipperary, Waterford, Westmeath, Wexford and Wicklow.

in other breaking news " Hitler invades Poland" as NPHET use RTE to try to justify their existance by telling us the virus has a seriously debilitating impact on old people in particular those with compromised health and wait for it…already in nursing homes- thank you NPHET
now NPHET can you please create a secure environment for these individuals using all means necessary and given that they are already inhabiting an isolated setting id imagine this cant be that complicated…
this dosent mean closing a fucking school ( full of “stealth bombers” , Killeen et al) where there is no impact, it means putting a fucking security cordon around nursing homes and giving staff PPE and severely restrict acccess to those other than staff- you are telling us masks work so - if care home staff are donned top to bottom in HazMat PPE we should be good …

on a more cynical note and proof “they” read TFK the case for the virus is being serverly weakened of late with minimal to no hospitalizations or deaths - fucking hell not even old lads are dying anymore - so this morning we have the classical statistical anomaly rolled out of an “indestructible” 23 year old who wait for it has some post covid type syndrome, im pretty sure we had some LGFA type with similar rhetoric - no doubt now they are back " manning the frontline" - you get paid for it FFS
we’re calling this lads - the spike in cases as well post clifden , now the stabilization again to prove local LD worked - now im guessing we will have some other living with corona type thing piped into homes on a monday at 9 30pm
