complete waste of time - will a test make her better ?no - if its positive itll cause you a world of unecessary hassle and get you on the 6-1 news as the school will be closed because of you - meanwhile most other parents whose kids are sick just saw fk this shit and ride it out for a day or two and send them back to school then

if its positive - what are you gonna do any different to any other year? you ll give her a load of neurofen and it’ll go away

the whole place is sick with colds and snotty noses and whatnot - the amount of coughing and spluttering from kids who were back in school two days- i was tying a fellas shoelace this morning and him sneezing on top of me - didnt stop him kicking a few points then

anyone exhibiting any symptoms that remotely require hospitilization and age profile of same please?
you cant present data like that without having in your back pocket the necessary drill down.
it comes accross as been very sloppy and ill prepared

we know there is an increase in cases, key question is… does it actually matter?

Is she in high risk category?

Absolutely. Our doctor saw my daughter last Wednesday,. He sent her for the test. Test was Friday and results came Monday. Whole family on lockdown for the entire period missing work & school and all because she had a head cold. It’s all a load of complete & utter bollix.

Doctors for the most part are well aware of that too, but don’t have any choice but to go along with it.

Its a complete cod.

I’m firmly in the OIUTF camp. However, I still feel isolating is the only option we have. The child has 4 grandparents over 80 she regularly sees. We can’t take that chance. My other daughter was meant to spend the weekend in wexford with a her friend’s grandparents. Can’t take that chance either. It’s a tiny chance but it would be irresponsible to take it.

Tis no harm to keep sick people away from old people as standard practice. We were probably a bit lax on that before

We?

Or were the nursing homes/government?

I mean in general before this. We shouldn’t have been going in sick to work and the likes. I was bad for it, I haven’t taken a sick day in years, but I’ll just work from home going forward if I have a cold.

Fair point, I would’ve been the same as you.

Won’t be doing it again - wfh is ideal that way, think longterm I would prefer a mix of going into the office too though.

3 days wfh,2 days in would be ideal I reckon.

I’m loving working from home full time. Not sure I ever want to go back to the office. But I suppose I’ll have to

I find it monotonous enough full-time, tis grand but if you could strategically plan your 2 days a week with 5 a side astro directly after work, that would be ideal.

The auld boy had the test and got the all clear . He knew he had a bit of a cold so went into the doctor to get checked out. They stopped him at reception and told him to go home, that they’d ring him later. He was brought into Nowlan Park the next day for the test. They rang him a couple of nights later to give him the all clear.

He reckons he got a chill as he went into Callan to watch a match above in the Park. “I had a coat on and all but I guess I can’t be sitting out of an evening anymore” he said. Some balls if this thing means Dad can’t go to matches anymore…
