Coronavirus - the deadly virus that no one dies from

Great news.

Knowing Laois, it missed.

That’s how it was back then. I wouldn’t trust a tea totaller

Yep. We’ve a weekend to centreparks booked since last November. The kids were going nuts at the thought of missing it. Its been defcon 5 here since Sunday.

Glad to hear it. No news yet on our side. Not sure if results are done locally or how each region does it but heard some examples of it taking 72 hours for others in Wexford. Hopefully we’ll know by tomorrow morning. The kids are seeing other kids out and about and playing and at that age trying to explain to them why they can’t isn’t much fun at all!

A small price to pay for an all clear.

Ah enjoy the weekend bud. Great news

Roisin Shortall was very good on Drivetime there. Made a point I’ve made here myself. There is no point in saying there are 180 cases in Dublin and leaving it at that. You need to be more specific and give people details of location, size of outbreak and cause. Mary Wilson was giving it the owl sure what would you want that information for and sure you can’t be asking the lazy cunts in the HSE to do even more work, but Roisin dug in.

She’s right too. If I hear there’s a number of cases in Dublin I’ll assume it’s somewhere over the other side of the county and carry on my merry way. If I heard there were cases on the Peninsula I might be a bit more careful.

As it happens Roisin managed to get out that there are outbreaks in Whitehall ( associated with Beaumont ?), North Dublin and West Dublin.

I thought Mary Wilson had been kicked off Drivetime for the lovely Sarah?

“Within Dublin, the highest incidence is now in Dublin South-East, at 69.5.”

ok - that’s slightly better
look, I like you , i think you are a nice fella but we need to get you to the next level.
In any situation, never, ever present numbers without context- i spoke with you about this earlier in the thread and see you repeating the same mistakes, you are presenting numbers over a short term daily rate and your data has no depth , you need to improve here as you are allowing misinterpration of the facts.
Now this is what NPHET do BTW , issue daily numbers with no context gets that fear in people
We are rational people - this is how we will proceed

  1. what i need from you is survival rate of the virus on a 30 day rolling average ( feel free to graph your data also
i want to see in this format daily please
  • last 30 days cases = 3437
  • last 30 days deaths = 6
  • current 30 day C-19 mortality = 0.17%
  • current 30 day survival rate = 99.83%
  1. deaths and hospitalizations
  • please provide a breakdown of deaths by age - i understand >90% are above our national life expectancy of 82? and are infirm in nursing homes - we need to see this data please
also repeat similar analysis for hospitalizations
  1. cases and impacts
    vital data
  • last 30 days again % of asympotmatic in the number of positive cases - again broken by age
  • lets call asympomatic a mild cold at best

what you will see in your analysis here is that this virus only is of interest to a definite subset of society, merely those >80 years of age who are in residential care

thanks - we’ll check in again tomorrow

I wouldn’t be holding my breath on that if I was you.

Although if I was trying to read a sentence you had put together, I’d be struggling to catch my breath.

look i know it seems like a lot of work at the outset
You are sending on numbers on a daily basis , but that’s all you are doing - sending on numbers.
You are better than that

You’ll never get off the helpdesk with that attitude.

If he bothered his arse to set the excel up properly it would be a five minute job for him every day.

Flat land. Lots of shared accommodation. Would make sense.

Baronies, civil parishes, Small Areas? @Copper_pipe needs to know for his spreadsheet.
