We keep up that test rate and we’ll have the entire country tested in year or so
Job is oxo
All those positives were from tests in the last 24 hours and all of those tests were finalised and had results in the last 24 hours? Doubt it.
Can you get us numbers on repeat tests?
Especially when the hundreds of thousands die in the WAVE OF DEATH that McDonkey and co are promising
I think you mean McConkey.
ok - so the audience now has this number… folk dont really know why you are telling them that-
is this number within recent baseline is a fair question here , is this an increase in positives ?
we have 156 people then today who have tested positive for this virus, grand.
an age profile now here would be good, also based on the previous 6 months of data that you have been producing could you deduce how many of 156 folk may end up in hospital or ultimately dead?*
it would be nice to include this in your opening salvo
bare in min yesterday i gave you a 30 day rolling average of a 99.83% survival rate ( referenced above)
One of the best proposals for opening Ireland up fully was to have enough testing to have everyone tested every two weeks. That way cases would be picked up and quarantined and everyone else could proceed safely. We have a bit to go to reach that level I guess.
You’ve really upped your game son since we started reporting the early numbers
I think we can safely assume that most of those being tested have some symptoms, if TFK is anything to go by, with every kid’s sniffle leading to a desire for a test (even though apparently kids aren’t getting symptoms if they have the Covid virus).
Not necessarily.
Every close contact of a confirmed case will be tested too, symptoms or not.

10,747 is a decent daily sampling number from a statistical standpoint, what the 1.45% positive number is telling you is that the virus isn’t widespread in the community, and that’s what you would expect given the fact most people are following guidelines and the state of utter panic people are in.
Correct - you’ll have the tests of close contacts and housemates of existing positives which are much more likely to return positive and you’ll have the @Mac sniffles tests which are probably all coming back negative.

I feel that its unfair on @Juhniallio and @tallback to exclude them from this phrase

A right kick in the bollix
I assume this is using American date format?

I think there is regular testing of certain jobs as well.
You’d wonder why there isn’t some more random sampling. I know it might be a bit of a challenge to get into place.
