Police state. The closing of roads last few days was outrageous.

No. Iā€™ve followed the rules.

The roads werenā€™t closed. Modern life is full of theatre, isnā€™t that what you used to say?

Twas all theatre. Achieved fuck all except delay people going about their lawful business.

A minor inconvenience in the bigger scheme of things. The ā€œpolice stateā€ nonsense makes you sound like a loon.

They had no lawful basis to restrict or choke traffic and create 8km tail backs. The Garda Commissioner t threatened that they would find a way to deal with people who did not comply. Police state.

You have been conditioned to accept this as normal.

Imagine telling you in January travelling from Shankhill to Bray would be stopped by police and then made illegal.

Same people should have planned for delays pal.

Checkpoints were well signposted Sunday night.

So have they no legal basis for tax or drink driving checks?

Heā€™s losing it lads.

Whatever about calling the place a police state I think itā€™s reasonable to be concerned, or at least annoyed, that laws like this are being considered (and approved by cabinet subcommittee).

They have statutory power to do so. More fruit loops stuff

Laws like what?

Thereā€™s an awful lot of things have happened that would have seemed absolutely crazy back in January, not just in Ireland though, thereā€™s a global pandemic like

Making it illegal to leave your county.

Easy see how the 1930s evolved the way they did.

Like frogs in a pot of water.
