North Wexford is riddled. Mobile test facility set up in Ferns due to high volume of cases. At least 5 GAA clubs with clusters.

Mrs Mac’s aunt is in a nursing home and has tested positive. Family been told it’s unlikely she’ll see the weekend. An asymptomatic chef brought it in. No symptoms or close contacts and the poor lad will probably have inadvertently killed half the place. Awful stuff.

Mrs Mac got an app notification this evening that she’s a close contact of a confirmed case. Has this happened anyone on here and how long did it take the contact tracers to get in touch? Looks like she’s off to live in the shed for 2 weeks

I have a feeling these bonuses, double payments and probably a few concessions in budget will be to try and garner some support ahead of what will be strict restrictions from probably next week until the start of December. Even restaurants are calling for restrictions so they can have some bit of hope of opening over Christmas.

They’ve locked down before all bank holiday weekends. I’d expect restrictions from end October to start December. Open it up til the new bank holiday on 22nd December and people sent home til mid January.

Christmas (once you let people go home) is a great chance to lock down as a lot of places are closed anyway
