Is it just me or are NPHET, HSE and goverment announcements pledging with the public to stay at home be vigilant and donât kill grannies starting to sound like the boy who cried wolf. The hospitals are over run they say but isnât that saif every winter?

But most people are not avoiding other people during lockdowns. They still go to work if they are essential, most go to shops, off licenses, etc. And over time they get fed up, and ignore lockdown, young people in particular. Lockdowns encourage people to stay inside, when what should be encouraged is being outside, exercise and sunlight.
