Who is making money from these PCR tests? It must be someone very well connected because I cant fathom any other why they are being insisted upon at the airport. People are getting a test in Ireland, going to the UK/France/Spain/wherever and then coming home within 72 hours and using the test they got here before the trip to cover them for coming home. Surely an antigen test taken a few minutes prior would be better than a three day old PCR test?

This is a mental read. Has to be a parody account, but the level of detail on the account is insane.
I think it is a combo between them not trusting individuals and them being comfortable with PCR. They think they have the modelling, contact tracing etc sussed. The goal for them has been the slow unwinding of restrictions which they can monitor on the basis that they are used to.
Heathrow have trialed an antigen test that can give a result in 90 seconds
NPHET donât want any travel, thatâs the thing.
Someone please tell me, Eastern European people, is it the practice not to wear masks over the nose and just cover the mouth? Genuine question, have seen loads of examples of it the last while.

They dont want a lot of things but there are essential reasons allowed for travel and there is an antigen testing facility at the airport. Itâs an absolute no-brainer

They want to discourage any travel. They think that the cost of PCR etc will stop travel increasing 10 or 20 fold.
Itâs stupid I agree but thatâs their thought process.
And theyâve been proven right about this.

This is the point. The PCR test, and the other rules around travel arenât about safety, theyâre to discourage travel.
How can they have been proven right about a situation that hasnât even arisen yet?
