Coronavirus Thread (Markey hates Immigrants )

Back then it was racist though. Like travel bans

Great thing is too studies are showing the vaccines have longer immunity than predicted. The boosters may in fact be a cod after all is done

A lot of people in the first wave were flabbergasted at being infected, “I was nowhere only the supermarket and I was very careful to sanitise my hands regularly.”

But the advice was never that. Keep two metres away and sanitise everything then you’ll be fine. It is still the advice.

It seems to be all about ventilation.

I am surprised with the studies about air travel. I would have thought the cabin pressure etc would be rife for it spreading. But then again what would I know?

I think the failure to recognize early that airborne transmission was dominant was a huge error, maybe people would have taken it more seriously if this was widely known. Even today the WHO and CDC talk about airborne as secondary to droplet and surfaces, which is just nonsense at this stage. The strongest evidence early on that it was airborne was that health care workers were getting infected even while wearing PPE. Surgical masks are fairly useless in a high viral load environment, they protect from droplets but not aerosols. The other mistake was defining the boundary between aerosols and droplets as 5 micron, when the correct boundary is 100 micron. We made the same mistake with TB and measles for decades.

The air on a plane is constantly moving and being filtered with HEPA filters that catch 99.97% of microbes, so it’s probably as safe as being outside.

The boosters will be needed if a variant emerges that the vaccines are not effective against, or if immunity wears off. So far it’s looking good on both fronts.

The Indian variant is totally out of control

The UK needs to be quarantined.

The sooner they stop looking for it the better. This virus loves a bit of attention

The Epsilon variant that will arrive in July will make the Indian variant look like mild hay fever. Vaccines won’t work against more
than 50 per cent of the time.

You shouldn’t have to go to the High Court to vindicate your rights on this. It’s ridiculous how we have behaved.

It’s another thing transplanted from the US. It doesn’t actually hold up to scrutiny when you look throughout Europe. For the most part, European countries tried to reopen when they could, and many are quite centre left. There is very little correlation with left and right on lockdowns in Europe.

The big battle in the US has been over schools, it’s mind boggling what has gone on. Most States have snapped out of it since Trump left office, New York in particular.

He appealed against that decision, but his appeal was unsuccessful.

So he had to go to court.

This is absolute nonsense, bizarre, ridiculous stuff. Who was the civil servant decision maker I wonder. Would be great to see some stats on the their appeal decisions.

It’s telling that as soon as anyone goes to the high court they are let out, before the judge can make a binding decision.

It’s nothing short of a disgrace.

If there is ever a tweet to point to on the hypocrisy of the ‘left’ throughout covid is this. Murphy is a clown, a clown who called for MHQ yet cried when aer lingus announced job losses. He supported blm and this march yet condemned anti lockdown.

I agree with the folks demonstrating 100%. But covid and restrictions are not talked about what they are based on data but ideology. Politics is rotten and dividing into ‘teams’ left and right irregardless of the issue is toxic and moronic.

If you’re wealthy enough to go to the High Court, you can ignore the MHQ. If you are a poor Brazilian who went home for your father’s funeral or a nurse coming in to help you can go fuck yourself (and pay 1875 quid).

But I made up nothing. A very, very odd post by you.

Murphy’s stance seems quite reasonable to me.

So certain protests are allowed if you agree with them as covid is a clever disease with a social conscious?

Look I agree with this protest and blm etc but how can you be for allowing people to have one yet call another a superspreader event irregardless of the cause?

Lad at work has tested positive after one shot of AZ. He’s absolutely fine (played football last night) but seems to be confusion in the HSE as to whether or not he needs to be isolating

They should shoot him and be done with it
