All hospitals are the same, add in people will go if they suspect they are very bad with covid on top of normal illness. We were over run before covid but now we will have a couple hundred extra due to it and there is more focus on the issue of hospital overcrowding. Its a perfect mix for a highly infectious airborne disease to go rampent

Mask wearing is mainly to be seen to do the right thing imho. I wear them as its only a small inconvenience in the long run of things, no one in any businessis paid enough to argue with a clown like me explaining why I think they are useless. I donāt think they are effective unless itās an ffp2/n95.
I still scoff at the roaster style face visors. You look ridiculous and they definitely donāt work

I saw a report saying the regional in limerick has 50 extra beds. These beds were in fact planned pre pandemic and were completed during the pandemic. I donāt know about other hospitals

I was in a rural part of England the last few days, all the auld ones are wearing masks in shops still compared to London where no one gives a shite, this thing is over and is absolutely fascinating to see the situation evolve, it only a courtesy now to wear a mask, when you see some 75 year old coming towards you shitting themselves

A friendās mother has been taken into hospital with covid. Fully vaccinated, about 60, she was on holidays.

Lopez Obrador is a left wing populist, poses a problem for the left wing in the US and Europe as itās difficult to label him alt right.
Mexico has the same death rate as the US and western Europe, the hysteria about how badly they have done is a bit overblown. Their health care is poor compared to the US and Europe, but at the end of the day their outcome is similar.
