Im watiting to see what they do with Jericho and the legends and Mickey Rourke. As I keep saying only the Taker vs Shawn match has the mania feel to it at the moment. Anyone who saw the end of the Rumble 2007 knows how brilliant that was. Mania could be a major letdown unless something big is done this week or next on Raw and Smackdown.
I’m not overly enthused by any of the matches. The build-up has been poor, certainly in comparison to last year anyway where we had a superb mania all round. Hopefully tonights RAW will be an improvement. Here’s hoping.
Indeed it does. I got caught out on this a few weeks back as the States changed their clocks the previous weekend so I had switched on Sky around 2am only to find it half over.
Get in there.
Good stuff, gentlemen. I won’t stay up for Raw tonight but I’ll read some reviews of it tomorrow. I’ll keep you posted on Paddy’s response - the emails are on my work PC.
Bandage good to see you’ve rediscovered your zest for big time wrestling. We were worried for you there for a while.
Ah I wont be up late myself but next Monday Im fecked as Flano and myself fly out the Tuesday morning to New York so Ill probbably not sleep that night. It could be a 3 hour Raw too.
Dunph, it’s fooking hard trying to find time for everything. But it never should have come to the stage where my interest in wrestling wavered. I should have sacrificed cricket or something like that.
Celtic.
What’s your itinerary, Shan?
We’re April 1, Chicago, April 3, Houston, April 6, Miami, April 10, New York, April 12, Dublin.
Looks like our paths won’t cross in NYC so you’ll have to take your beating in Houston.

You mean you wont get the beating till Houston.
March 31st New York, April 3rd Houston, April 6th Las Vegas and then back in Dublin April 11th.
I’m fairly jealous…
Ric Flair is a mess… He looks like he’s hyped up on steroids or something. The nature boy is ridiculously unhealthy looking, and now he’s taking a major beat-down from Jericho.
Jericho’s the legend.
Bandage any update on Mania betting?
Me:
To Whom It May Concern,
As you’re no doubt aware, it’s now less than 2 weeks to the greatest sport extravanganza of them all - Wrestlemania XXV.
However, I’m concerned that you have yet to publish odds for the series of mouthwatering matches set to take place in The Reliant Stadium, Houston - home of the Houston Texans NFL team - on Sunday, April 5th.
Is there a glitch in the system? When can I expect to be able to avail of some ante-post value? Even a shoddy outfit like Hackett’s have their odds up already and I don’t want to be left with no option but to take my business there.
Leaving Paddy Power would be heartbreaking for me. I would probably be as emotional as Ric Flair was at last year’s Big Dance when he lost his retirement match to The Showstopper, Shawn Michaels.
However, I’m confident I won’t be lost to Paddy Power, like Kurt Angle has been to TNA.
Yours in hoping Belfast Brawler, Finlay, can win the Money In The Bank Ladder Match to keep this spell of tremendous Irish sporting results going,

Me (note this was sent pre-last night’s Raw:
Sara,
Many thanks for your prompt reply.
In case you, or your traders, haven’t been keeping watch on matters, I’ve just compiled a brief, little overview of the card and would politely request odds for all of the below matches:
WWE Championship Match - Triple H v Randy Orton; Suggestions after last Monday’s Raw that this could become a cage match as Triple H battered Cody Rhodes in an impromptu cage match. Rumours are that Vince doesn’t like making too many matches at Wrestlemania as ‘gimmick’ matches so this may not come to pass.
World Heavyweight Championship Match - Edge v Big Show v John Cena; Straight forward triple threat match which has involved some very humourous segments in the build up, centred around the Edge/BIg Show/Vicky Guerrero love triangle. Highlights include Vicky Guerrero giving Big Show a loving ‘pat’ on the backside when she was saying goodbye to him and also Vicky declaring that the winner of the match will be the Champion of her Heart. Excellent stuff in terms of humour and entertainment.
Streak on the Line Match - Undertaker v Shawn Michaels; This one really starting to build up. At end of tag match last week, HBK did his usual slyness and tagged in as Taker was about to finish JBL off, delivered sweet chin music and pinned JBL himself. Taker aimed a big boot at his head but HBK avoided and headed out of the arena. Taker followed only to stop at the ramp when HBK went backstage however, as he turned to face the crowd, HBK reappeared and delivered sweet chin music. Taker vowed revenge when he least expects it on Smackdown on Friday. Some excellent promos by both men also.
Unified Tag Team Championship Match - The Colons v Miz/Morrison; These two teams have matched well over the past few weeks and has potential for good match. The presence of the Bella Twins is also a good addition. Twins have now separated with one siding with each of the teams.
Intercontinental Championship Match - JBL v Rey Mysterio; Was hoping that Mysterio would get something better than JBL after his performances of late but hopefully he’ll be able to speed the match up. McMahon trying to add a bit of glamour back to IC Title which hasn’t been defended at the big dance for 7 years.
Money in the Bank Ladder Match - Kane v MVP v Mark Henry v CM Punk v Christian v Shelton Benjamin v Finlay v Kofi Kingston; Few questionable participants given their size and lumbering nature but always a good match. Punk, Christian, MVP and Benjamin will bring a lot to the table and also look out for Kofi Kingston who could prove interesting in this type of match.
Brother v Brother Match - Jeff Hardy v Matt Hardy; Super build up to this one and should be a good fight between the two of them. Apparently, it’s now been made an Extreme Rules Match too which should make this off the chain considering the two involved.
25 Diva Battle Royal - 25 divas past and present, winner crowned Miss Wrestlemania. Will be watching this purely to admire the wrestling technique of the ladies, and nothing else.
Not officially announced yet but Chris Jericho last week challenged Superfly Jimmy Snuka, Rowdy Roddy Piper and Ricky ‘the Dragon’ Steamboat to a handicap match at Wrestlemania with Ric Flair in their corner. Also, invited Mickey Rourke to be at ringside so that he could have a front row look at what Jericho will do to them. Obviously gonna involve everyone of them at various stages which should be good.
Nothing announced for Stone Cold yet and he hasn’t made any appearance so there’s still something to come there - potentially he’ll be involved in the Legends Match. Safe to say, his appearance will be off the chain!!
I don’t think there will be too much more to be announced now, possibly an ECW Title match still to come which I’d imagine will be Jack Swagger v Evan Bourne who has just returned. Only other real big name not to be involved yet is Umaga. He’s been out injured for a long time but made a return a couple of weeks ago. Rumours were he injured himself again and I don’t think he’s been seen since so possibly he is out. Kozlov, Khali, R-Truth, Dibiase and Rhodes (although will probably participate in Orton/HHH match), Chavo Guerrero, Gregory Helms, Jesse, Festus, Mr. Kennedy (injured), The Brian Kendrick, and other smaller names not involved yet either. Possible dark match Battle Royal again to accommodate some of these will be held. Batista is injured so unlikely that he will appear.
You haven’t lived until you’ve experienced Wrestlemania.
Yours in sports entertainment,
