Do we have anyone on the ground in sudan? From what i gather the russians were planning a naval base there. A possible cause of the current conflict is that the sudanese government are either for or against the idea, whilst their military/militia take an opposing position… plus
probable US involvement
The US have stoked up opposition to the base… A lot of money has found its way to Sudan lately.
I’d say we’ll have the necessary expertise on the forum by close of business with experts having a polar opposite view by the morning.

The military gave the thumbs up to the base just after Christmas… They must have had a full stocking.
From the quick skim of Wikipedia I have taken, this Abdel Fattah al-Burhan seems like a shady individual.
By all accounts Sudan had a somewhat unstable situation with two armies power sharing. What could possibly go wrong?
The Wagner group are all over this apparently. They should be declared a terrorist organisation.

I was in Salisbury today and listening to some local radio station as I was driving. They were talking about how there are brits still on the ground. “The Spanish had even evacuated Irish and other EU citizens and left them behind.”
“So will we send in our military to evacuate our citizens?”
“Well, look, that would be terribly difficult as you can imagine.”
Tis some bed they’ve made for themselves.

The RWA lads get into this at about 1:10 in. Wagner have a bit of everything as far as artillery , air support etc goes. They also have some supporters amongst the russian army and probably various private military contractors operating in ukraine.
Supposedly your man that runs Wagner has been in hiding the last few weeks as he knows Putin wants him gone.
I guess this is his last throw of the dice.

He’s been mouthing off a lot lately not directly at Putin but fairly close to the bone saying it’s all a sham. The bodies are mounting. Ukraine was no danger etc etc.
Then allegedly they launched artillery down on top of his base today. Now some are saying that’s a false flag so he could start this with justification. But who knows they are all liars and they are all mental
