Changes the whole dynamic, especially the betting. Dogs who might have gone longer odds yesterday evening on the basis of getting a grueling will now be fresh going into the quarter.

They hardly wanted to call it off, they must have been left with no option. Other years the start has often been delayed to allow more of a thaw in the ground.
You’d like to think they postponed it to piss off the animal rights protesters who assembled outside.
They are hardly bothered. It’s not like they have work to go to.

What happened, allegedly?
I’ve been speaking to a man who attended and he had nothing scandalous to report.
Rumors that someone pulled a healthy dog out of a Final.
I dunno about that… One thing I heard was that the dog was very distressed after the semi final and it was decided not to run him again… However, the man with the curls would only be human if he didn’t necessarily want to get to the ‘10-final mark without a win’… Having that tag wouldn’t help anybodies self belief… And bear in mind that the dog he had always indicated that was the best in his kennel had just been beaten by FMP. We have had dogs in the last few years run in the final even though they were not right and owners were berated for running them…
