You need a drink
I dont
No fucking about kid" I dont". Headshot
Some lads are not built for INTERNET senior hurling. A lot of lads have been training for the last 7 weeks for the whole of their lives.
I advised them boys to find their zen. They wouldn’t listen.
I’m starting to think people are going to be more in tune with their own mortality after this and it will dawn on them we are not around forever. People will go buck ape.
I heard someone recently referencing that after World War 1 and the Spanish flu came the “roaring twenties” which were renowned for everyone going a bit mad and looser sexual morals (vs previous) etc
Berlin will be off the hook.
And a financial crash
I think that you are going to have to get used to financial crashes. They are coming with regularity albeit with varying degrees of severity and with different causes. We’ve had crashes in 1973, 1987, the dot com crash in 2000, the great crash in 2008 and now this one. They are a fact of life.
What’s the best way to set yourself up to deal with one do you think?
Get a job in the public sector
Don’t speculate in property
Forget about shares
Get a trampoline for your garden
Anything else?
Practice achieving zen
Maybe
Not sure : the public will bail you out if you play smart
Possibly
Depends on the age of your children and your fitness
Trust me on sunscreen
There were a number of crashes through the 19th century as well, starting with 1815 when govt spend on material and food for the napeolonic wars stopped abruptly
The old public sector jobs with the gold plated pensions were the business, but I’m not sure that they are available anymore.
Keeping debt to the very minimum is a key factor. Borrowing money to buy cars to impress the neighbours is absolute madness. Borrowing to speculate in any asset class is the same. Cash in the bank is king. Having a few bob to tide you over a rough spell is a must.
Low earners and social welfarers suffer comparitively less too as they’re used to less
There has been a financial crash nearly every decade for the last 3 centuries, with the exception of the post World War II boom when the Americans kept everyone sweet.
