Crazy Dublin Rents and House Prices

Disagree, I think that looks good. Uses the already beautiful buildings.

The only one Iā€™ve any interest in there is tayto parkā€¦near the Ratoath inn also

Isnā€™t that the Brazilians sub-letting as opposed to the landlord?

Itā€™s dog eat dog out there.

Get some poor student in to pay the mortgage. Itā€™s genius really.

If the student can pay that, they aint poor.

You could also get a live in nanny there, drop a few bob off the rent. Up there for thinking.

Sure thatā€™s the going rate obviously regardless of whether you can afford it or not.

Fuck em out at weekends then. So in a 30 day month they wonā€™t be there at least 8 days. So itā€™s actually the equivalent of ā‚¬1300 a month. Christ. At least in the old days of digs you got fed as well.

They need a grand wee homebird girl from the Wesht, who hasnā€™t found mickey yet.

ā‚¬950 with allowances for someone coming in late a Sunday night.:rofl: What would an entire house (barn) in College Court cost out of interest?

Well over ā‚¬2k a month for a 4 bed for the student year. DJ equipment not included

Would it actually be that much? I suppose I havenā€™t paid any real heed of rental prices anywhere in Ireland in about 4 years, other than the persistent whine in the media about Dublin prices.

Ya itā€™s mental here as well, but not as bad as Dublin obviously. Nothing to rent anywhere, a lot of the old further out places which would have been student estates have been taken over by young professionals. All the students have left are the cardboard boxes in Elm park and the likes of College Court. A lot of students driving to college now from places they wouldnā€™t have before because itā€™s too expensive to live around the place.
Thereā€™s serious money to be made in buying a shit box in Elm Park and renting it out. A lot of hassle as well though. At least if you start out with a shit house itā€™s not too bad if they wreck it.

Id say if youā€™re considering this the 950 is only a dent in the mortgage

Should have left the name of the person posting that as up. What utter cretins.

Informative. Yeah, other than actual structural damage, you couldnā€™t really make an Elm Park house a whole lot worse. I guess a lot of houses/apartments along Groody Road in particular were filled with students initially but that has swung the other way, particularly with Northern Trust nearby. Iā€™ve seen a couple of planning applications for developments go in for the Bloodmill Road in the past few months.

Ya a lot of places like Briarfield and up around the shopping in centre in Castletroy which a lot of students lived in are young professionals now as well, though still a few students knocking about im sure. Driving from home to college would completely ruin the best part of college experience. And the most important part IMO
