Thatâs a half-hearted apology. The Irish fans werenât only offended by the accusations that they were abusing Froome, but by Walsh writing that they sought out the Sky doctor the next day to apologise. Walsh made the mistake of attributing that apology to a particular group of lads (Lakeside Wheelers I think it was) and they released a statement denying they made any apology. It took Walsh a long time to retract his story, and only after the others got a bit of publicity for calling him up on his fiction.
