on a more pressing point regarding âcycling folkâ,
anyone know what happened to larryduff?, he used to really piss me off when he used to post on here, on one hand he used to be blathering on about the irish hero that he thought he was and his trips to the Aviva and those evenings he spent with those knobs in the âsinging sectionâ and then heâd get up on his little englandler box and start lecturing us on NI and british politics and the advantages of living with John Bull and his love of the pound.
i am aware he used to post on cycling , he did get a little aggressive with me when i enquired about bradley wiggins and doping, and we went our seperate ways on the topic after that, i wonder what are his thoughts on the matter now
Cycling folk? Look id just like to know what Roche and Kelly are saying, do you have the info or are you just intent on having a pop at me at every opportunity. Its not new and its getting tedious. Other more naturally edgier posters have been at it for years and now you think its hilarious. Leave it out.
So, kelly and roche?
Why does it always have to be Kelly and Roche? Why not Indurain, Hinault, Mercxx, Bettini, Rominger? listening to you one would swear Ireland is the centre of world doping in sport. (Except for horse racing of course).
Im not âcycling folkâ balbec and have hardly heard of these other people you mention. They mean nothing to me.
I have heard of Kelly and Roche tho, were national heros when I was growing up, i was force fed the glory they brought to the country and if it turns out they are frauds and cheats who essentially paved the way and helped create or add to the culture that led to the likes of Armstrong blowing it out of thw water then that deserves to be persued by the irish media but to my amazment it isent.
Even the bossman of this outlet, one of the self styled cycling folk, can boast that ye all knew about it years ago but still will not speak out against these two frauds.
The whole moral outrage in this country at what Armstrong did along along the sense of almost national pride of having kimmage and Walsh and that masseur at the core of it doesnt tally with Kelly and Roche sitting in the corner still earning money from cycling and up to their eyeballs with the uci while nobody, either the media nor âcycling folkâ deem it appropriate to go there.
Im sure both drug cheats could name their price to present awards at cycling clubs around the country.
I asked a genuine question btw, what have either of Kelly and Roche said on Armstrong and the whole scandal surrounding the uci?
ita a simple question despite rocko taking umbrage on behalf of the cycling folk.
They havenât said a whole lot HBV. Are they supposed to? They are free to say what they like or not I suppose. I know that Roche is on a UCI committee, not sure that Kelly is on any. So you resented being force fed their glory, as a child? What a sad statement.
they can say what they like but as ambassadors for the sport( they basically symbolise cycling in Ireland for example) you would expect them 100% be on the side of anti doping. They are not though for whatever reason and in my mind but obviously not in the likes of yours they are cheating fraudulant cunts.
If they chose to remain silent then they are open to questions and critism.
There is plenty of stick aimed at Wiggins on here for example simply for obeying the cycling omerta that the likes of our two heros created. If Wiggins is fair game despite as of this moment remaining officially âcleanâ, then the likes of Kelly who is officially âa doperâ should at least be judged on the same merits.
but in Ireland he is a hero and afforded all the benefits heros are. And we sneer at the Brits for treating Wiggins and his mates in the same way.
A few updates. Ritchie Porte won Paris-Nice last week. Nico was about 13th the usual story falls away near the end of stages and canât time trial to save his life.
Meanwhile Tirreno-Adriatico was taking place with a much higher quality field. Nibali won the overall as well as two stages, Froome was second and won a stage. Contador was well up there are well. Cav won a stage.
Milan-San Remo is on tomorrow, I fancy Sagan to win.

Isnât this somewhat re-assuring, as regards the suspicions one might have were he to suddenly become a world-beater? I think the key will be in the summerâŚsure didnât Armstrongâs lot often take it easy (except for the Classics guys) early in the year.
