A truly great bloke and an Irish legend. He was fucking brilliant over here this year and his signature sits proudly on my Ireland shirt.

Not taking a wage and donating it to charity. Top top bloke :clap:t3::clap:t3::clap:t3:

Not much to donate if he doesn’t take the wage in the first place.

Yeah, that’s a classy move in fairness. Plenty of players give it lip service but precious few actually take the trouble to play here at the end of their career. To be fair, Duff has earned his money, sitting on the bench for a League One side for a few extra quid might mean more to some players financially. But fair play to him anyway, hope it sparks something a bit more medium-term than a few extra people at his first match.

Makes a mockery of the greedy fucks who are happy to go ply their trades for fortunes in countries where, say slavery exists and homosexuality is illegal (Xavi Hernandez). How much money do these bastards need exactly?

Duffer is quite simply a beautiful man.

A grand lad

roy keane did the same moving to glasgow celtic, horrid cunt

Should’ve at least sent his wages to Cobh and Rockmount.

Has retired from football.

A great player for Ireland and a top lad. His performances in the 2002 WC are vastly underrated in the grand scheme of Irish football

Honest as the day is long is Duffer. Very much an alright sort.

Pity he couldn’t have had one injury free season with Rovers to finish it off on a high. Would have been a great boost to the league.

What can you say about Duffer. One of the good lads. Always showed up, and always tried hard. A lovely bit of class to him on his day. Just a shame Jose killed the boy inside him when he got hold of him.

Worked hard to develop himself from the frail winger who used to fall over at the slightest touch early in his career, possibly due regard to Jose for that one too perhaps? Might be getting the timeframe mixed up a little on that though. Deserved a better send off to his Intl and Club careers than he got, but went out quietly as is his wont.

A great man for popping into Tramco in Rathmines back in the day actually.

A legend and a top top bloke. Not many would have done what he did last season. Pity there’s not more of his ilk in a world of jumped up prima donnas. He used kick around on the 5 a side pitches in UCD with his mates during the summer on a Wednesday evening.

Tough to say if Chelsea was a misstep. Had a good season with them initially before Robben was brought in. He played his way back into that Chelsea team, which is a testament to his character. Played a fair bit on the right when both he & Robben were fit. Managed to win a League medal which not many Irish lads can say they have.
All said though he was far too nice a player for the style Chelsea played.
