Darren is an alright sort
I’d say he is in fairness. He’d remind me of a few lads I’d know from Galway - not the sharpest, but decent sorts.

Ooooofffttt!
Had Darren for company in the car today and of course he didn’t let us down.
Firstly he told us that Seamus Coleman is out of Irelands crucial Euro 2012 playoff vs Slovakia.
A hour later we were getting some live commentary from the Cork final. It finished with Blackrocks first goal and Marty called out that the score was currently 2.8 to 1.13 and he returned to Darren in the studio. Darren then said he would update with the latest club scores from around the country.
"Firstly to Cork where Glen Rovers lead Blackrock on a scoreline of 2.7 to 12 points…
To make matters worse the match was live on a screen in front of him.

Marty made a bollocks of the score as well. Glen Rovers we’re trailing 3-12 to 1-18 at a critical juncture today according to the great man.

I heard Darren only briefly today but in the few mins he told us Ra-hote had defended their title in Meath, twice.

He got made redundant so he’ll get a nice package out of it. He’ll walk into another job with all that experience.
He reads the sport at 7.30 and 8.30, what would he do for rest of the day?
You think he can just come in and read the sports news at 7.30 and 8.30 as easy as that? Think of all the research, script writing, editing and behind the scenes work he has to do to stay at the top of his game.
