They wanted to play a good team from Waterford in a challenge instead.
Assume JJ Doyle be favourite.
Iām not a betting man but are there odds anywhere for next Wexford manager? Iād be interested to see the list. JJ Doyle canāt be ignored with 3 Camogie All-Irelandās and 3 Leinster U21ās.
In addition to the ones youāve mentioned here are a few more:
Barney Rock - Westmeath; Mickey Whelan - Louth; Brian Mullins - Derry; Davy Foran - Wicklow; Jack Sheedy - Longford; Brian McDonald - Mayo
Hopefully he wonāt have bankrupted you the way he did us.
Maybe county board will go with someone whose experienced the pressure of the role before
Your Joacim Kellyās
Your Tony Dempseyās
Your Maggots Murphyās
not at all Fagan. Some may be surprised, but there is base equal pay line to the hurling and football managers here. What he is getting is not excessive at all. Since he was with ye, he has the TV gig, so by staying prominent in management, they compliment each other, so maybe he doesnt need to screw the county board like he may have done so before. As oft mentioned, Wexfords finances have been increasing by a decent chunk over the past few years. Eanna Martin has a specific commercial role with the county board where they go find big funding sources and its been a big success for the past 4 or 5 years since he and that committee was set up.
I wonder if the county board will want to appoint somebody before the county championship starts to allow him or her to run the rule over the players available. Or might they wait until after it to see if any candidate emerges? On the latter point, I see St Anneās appointed David āDocā OāConnor as senior manager in his first season post retirement as a player. Iād say theyāre hoping heāll be their Henry Shefflin - Henry achieved great things in taking on the role at his home club in his first year after retiring. Doc could be a live candidate come late October.
Not many in recent times. Iām sure weāll see plenty of the leadership group from the Jim Gavin era attain managerial roles in time. Kerry are still the kings of exporting football managers.
I imagine Kevin Ryan and Patsy Fanning will be interested in the Wexford gig.
Davy couldnāt let Joe Canning have all the limelight for the week
Could be a Jason Ryan type set up, a whirlwind county championship win with outsiders and straight into the county senior team then for a few years of success. Best of luck to DOC Oā Connor.

Will poor little Paul Galvin be able to come back as football manager now?
He can go and fuck. Trying to blame Davy for his fuck ups. Got rid of three starters off the panel (all three started against Dublin, one of them making the GAA team of the week), quit before the championship and pretty much left us high and dry not even lasting a year. Funny then everyone outside Wexford hating on Davy saying poor aul Paul Galvin, sure isnt he right. Saying Davy wouldnt let him use Ferns. Ferns is a big complex with 4 dressing rooms and 5 pitches, but poor little Paul saying Davy wouldnt let them play there. Gobshite.
Itās time for the Garry Laffan/Johnny Honda dream ticket
Itās time for Dictionary Derek and his rambunctious Wexford squad.
Apparently Martin had it out for Davy.
Martin wanted Davy to make an appearance at his club and Davy made some snide comment.
It didnāt go down well so it didnāt.
Which Martin are we talking about now? Storey??
Martin?
