Would you mind Eddie Brennan getting it? His CV is okay to decent but no more than that. His media profile (has he been dropped by RTE actually? Havenāt noticed him in a while but he was definitely doing a bit when still managing Laois) probably helps get his name out there.
This seems to be JJ Doyle ruling himself out for senior manager. Saying he wants to concentrate on his full time coaching/development job with Wexford GAA.
Time to start tweeting āAnnounce Maherā to Wexford GAA.
Id say Eddie is looking at Dublin job. Was he not coaching cuala last year?
Heās over them this year I think. Laois last year.
Yeah, thatās what meant. Getting a good look at club scene with a view to taking over from Kenny.
Took over from future Wexford manager Willie Maher.
Heās very good nowhere near the 3 mentioned and you did say Galway have produced better players than the Tipp team of the last decade. Youāll need more than one name to back that statement up
He would walk on any intercounty team. Bona fide top class forward.
Absolutely
He wouldnāt be my first choice. If things had fallen differently we could have snared Liam Cahill which would have been fantastic. Eddie Brennan would be akin to his namesake Eddie Howe, a reasonable appointment but not first choice or majority innovative.
I rank Henry Shefflin as more promising in the Kikenny contingent based on the resurgence Ballyhale enjoyed under his tutelage.
You need to stop making things up mate. And go back and read your post.
Canning is well ahead of callinan. Whelan is better than bubbles or John McGrath. Whelan is consistent, bubbles can be lethal but disappears, at times for seasons, McGrath canāt even get a start these days. Ridiculous to suggest either are better than Whelan. Then of course thereās cathal mannion.
Conor Whelan does not have the body of work John McGrath produced from 16-19 including 2 all Irelandās. Heās a great yolk but to say heās better than bubbles is beyond wumming
Medals are irrelevant to the conversation. When comparing players relative levels we donāt just pick the seasons one was good. Whelan is far far consistent than McGrath. Whelan would start for any county in Ireland. McGrath would hardly make the panels at this stage.
Possible McGrath recovers top form - which was class - and changes the picture. But as of now itās Whelan all day, itās not even debatable.
Are we talking fit bubbles or fat bubbles because we donāt know which one is turning up year to year?
At their best not now . Whelan, Mannion and Joe are not as good as Callinan, Bubbies and John McGrath as a three. If you feel differently fair play, thatās all Iām saying.
Specious reasoning again.
It doesnāt suit your argument you mean. Stand by your convictions at least , misguided as they may be
If only we could have organised a series of matches between the teams or something to see who would come out on top.
