I canāt remember but Jim-Bob could have drank half the pubs in Limerick dry if he was that way inclined.
Jim-Bob is actually a very decent guy (notwithstanding what he has done on the field (or just off it)). I absolutely admire the guy as a person and the work he has done with underage training in the county is top class. He has been egged on to come back and have another go this year. If this is to set an example to the younger guys then fine you couldnāt have a better setter of standards. If it is to anchor our midfield wellā¦ then we are in trouble.
That is not the rule which applies to Forde. Those are rules for misconduct at games by team officals, not players, as clearly stated at the top. You do not seem familiar with the rules.
Davy is a lovely man too, as has been confirmed by numerous anecdotal accounts. He was wrong to enter the field of play, but the suspension here is excessive.
I donāt doubt Ryan is a decent fella if you say he is, but what he did there was wrong, and he shouldnāt be proud of it.
Bans for non players are given in weeks still. Such as the lad that runs in from the stand to box the ref. You canāt really ban him from games as he doesnāt play them. Bans on non players are unenforceable really bar keeping him off the sideline on match day
Jason Forde launched himself six feet into Davy. I care not one jot for his above average but as yet unproven at the highest level talent. Where can there be a place in the game for a man of such wicked temperament?
Heād be banned from that and one match next year. Iām not saying whether he should be banned or not. Iām just saying that the rule you repeatedly quoted, while saying others didnāt understand the rules, was the wrong rule.
For what itās worth IMO Davy lost all protection when he illegally entered the field of play.
So you believe Forde, or any player, is well within his rights to, say for example, cleave the head off a mentor who enters the field of play illegally?
