I happened to see Davy one night after an event very late on in the early hours when everyone was dispersing do a very kind and caring deed that most people would have just said fuck it and let someone else deal with it. Had nothing to do with him, but he showed a side of caring that was natural, he was genuinely helping someone who needed it and he just happened to be around the vicinity and dealt with it when 99% of people wouldnt have looked twice. It wasnt a show or public thing either, there was no one around to view it or see it (hence my reason for not going into full details), but it just heightened my opinion of him as a genuine man who does his best when he is able to.

Look, these lads live their lives under a microscope through the lens of hurling. Every character flaw is on show for the public, in situations of extreme pressure, some lads seem to think Davy is a raving lunatic 24/7.
He might be a cunt or he might be sound, the only people who’d know are those close to him
