Some lunatic said Roy Keane was a great player and better than Pirlo who I said was better than Messi. I helpfully clarified that Roy Keane was fairly useless and Jason McAteer had a better international career than him.

Queen bottled it before he had to face the big boys in the World Cup. Ireland got on fine without him.
United got on fine without him when they made it to the Champions League final, Queen was ordinary and is a joke figure on the continent. Heâs known as the guy who got destroyed by a traffic warden in the Scottish Cup.

Keane was viewed as a leader on the pitch and the father figure for the younger stars around him at United. In reality his perceived achievements and the success of United was more resultant of the talented group of young players like Scholes, Giggs, Beckham, Neville etc. and some shrewd signings from Ferguson.
The fact is Keane was quite a technically limited footballer whose greatest skill was the ability to bully and intimidate the players on his own team, the opposition and the officials. He would not last 5 minutes at a top level club these days where his dangerous tackles and personal vendettas would not be tolerated by the officials or the club.
