What did anyone think of Souttar last night? For me he was very average, definitely lost the battle to GG which was encouraging

He was probably their best defender but that wasn’t saying much. Jota had Smith on toast and Kingsley wasn’t great on the other side. Souttar did most of the stuff in the middle but GG probably won the battle and got his goal and caused him problems. He’s strong in the air but wouldn’t have him better than Welsh I don’t think.

That’s a great shout. I was trying to think, while watching last night in the context of him going to the huns, what hun of yore he reminded me of. And it’s McLaren alright. Kinda barrel chested, a bit pudgy and rosy red cheeks.

You never know, as it depends how he blends in. Other than the odd exception like vvd, defenders defend as a unit, and can only really be judged as part of a unit.
I thought soutar pretty solid. It took a sublime and exceptional finish to get the better of him, and even then he was in very close attendance.
