It’s a north African chilli paste, but not overly hot- Great in any dish, particularly soups- But I have it on the side of my plate for nearly every meal-
Yeah I could do it if I was more organised. Trying to stop eating bread is my aim for now so just want to break that habit.
Any suggestions for things to bring?
On Sunday I made a big pot of chili full of mince, beans, veg etc, nice and spicy. Brought some in to work along with a wrap, some grated cheese in a tiny container and some soured cream from Aldi. Had it yesterday and it was delicious, full of good stuff and I didn’t feel bloated after. And I’m looking forward to it again now. I know a tortilla wrap is not the best thing to be eating but I’d imagine it’s better than two slices of bread. You can also buy wholemeal tortillas.
You lads using Tupperware for transporting lunches?
Nah, just plastic containers. The little containers are great for transporting a bit of sauce, or salad dressing, or the aforementioned grated cheese to make your boring lunch a bit more exciting.
Cheers - must try it. Willing to sacrifice absolute nutrition for convenience to break the bread at lunch habit but will look to do the one pot dish at home and bring some of it in as well.
It is expensive (although cheaper than buying one at a time in a convenience shop) but the fruit in Marks and Spencer is way ahead of any other supermarket (Superquinn does come close). Don’t think the the fruit in Aldi is great. Trying to snack on stuff like apples/pears/oranges/berries and almonds and nice fruit makes it a lot easier to keep at it.
I did the whole fasting thing but I think cleaning up my diet is a more sustainable way of living and won’t affect productivity at work. Fasting (16 hours off/ 8 hours on) is something I will do maybe once a year in April and May to get in shape for summer.
Nah it’s not the best but their pineapples and bananas are fine. I don’t really like eating fruit so I make green smoothies instead. They’d keep you going, so they would.
I forgot the chocolate chips!!! How very stupid of me… Sprinkle in at the end to your own liking
Hadn’t tried it in soup. Do you add it in during cooking or just a dollop on top at the finish?
Anyone in Limerick looking to try Harrissa I recommend the one that Mark Renton sells.

If I wanted to pick some of the stuff up(or bust some heads for some recent abuse) the next time I’m down, where would I go, pal?

Just whack it in at the end, pal. Gives a nice little kick to it.

fruit in lidl is the best pal…Marks and Sparks trick you with the presentation …look at their oranges …they look massive and then you peel it and the skin is about an inch thick…
I find pornhub or Xhamster very good for that…
You need a biology lesson.

Don’t know about that- Inuits live on nothing but meat, fish and blubber and until they came in contact with western lifestyle cancer almost didn’t exist. Pollution, pesticides, toxins, tobacco, alcohol etc etc are the cause- Stress is also a major cause.
