A hard weekend or two of speed and drink will sort it out

The bad AIDS?

@Kinvara’s Passion Where did you buy the quest bars from mate? Is there somewhere in Ireland or did you buy direct from quest in USA?

So gluten intolerance is fake now.

If you check out Dominic Munnelly website he has a discount code there somewhere.

Huh?

A new study suggests that while coeliac disease is real, people claiming to have a ‘gluten intolerance’ is a load of nonsense.

Lithuania has banned the sale of energy drinks to under 18s. Interesting to see if others follow

How would they differentiate between the caffeine based drinks like Red Bull and the sugar and glucose drinks like Lucozade?

Have they banned under 18s from buying coffee too?

Hmmm… here is my view. Family experience here, 3 different members.

Person eats wheat all their lives with no notable effect, then over the period of 2 to 3 years health deteriorates greatly. Gets diagnosed as a coeliac. Quits Gluten and full health is restored within 1 month.

Coeliac disease doesn’t switch itself on suddenly. There is an underlying intolerance that builds up over time. The villi in your stomach and intestine wall eventually get worn down over years of irritation. There comes a point where they are rendered almost useless and your food literally flows through without any meaningful absorption.

So there is an intolerance and if you don’t treat it, it will lead to full blown Coeliac disease someday.

just had a grand breakfast there
strong coffee with a dash of milk and sugar and 2 small muffins that she made after returning to the house on Tuesday when she called off the divorce
we are having peppers stuffed with spicy mince meat and rice tonight, its phenomaneal, you cook the meat in this brutally spicy tomatoe sauce ( i have no idea how its concocted), you then stuff the peppers with the spicy sauce, mince and rice and allow to simmer in the sauce for a few hours, its unreal.
ill wash it down with a few cans of Oranjeboom

serious fucking gut after appearing over the last few days here lads, fucking hell, I am a bit concerned. First time in my life. I am wearing a very loose t shirt to try and hide it, those fucking indian and chinese takeways every nigt must be very bad for you. Though I reckon its the fish and chips for lunch everyday, they really fill you up and are massive portions.

@Kinvara’s Passion I’ve been very pleased with the Quest bars, mate. I got three boxes delivered last week - Apple pie, banana nut muffin and vanilla almond crunch. Just having one of the latter bars here now with a cup of tea but must say i enjoy the former two varieties much more. The first time i opened one and saw the texture of it then bit into it i was wondering what i was getting myself into but once you get over the appearance the taste is great. They’re strangely addictive, i’m having one a day but there are numerous times of the day when i’m thinking i’d love one of them right now. I must put in an order soon for some more and this time get the chocolate varieties hopefully which were sold out last time. I’m using them solely as a replacement in the evening for eating a bar of chocolate or a few biscuits etc but haven’t done any exercise now in weeks so hopefully will see some benefit to them when i get back into exercise.

For a trial I had a green(ish) smoothie for breakfast - OJ, two lumps frozen spinach, a kiwi, fistful of frozen blueberries, oats, Greek yogurt, and some pumpkin seeds. I probably put in too much yogurt and it tasted mostly of that. I’m beginning to feel hungry after having a coffee and I expect I’ll be ravenous for lunch by 12.

If I ate one a day I would get sick of them soon enough. I usually eat them the day of training, straight after a session.

Made my own Paleo bars at the weekend. Recipe robbed from dom munnelly site

Ingredients -

200g blended nuts (mix of almonds, cashew, walnuts and brazil are best)

Handfull of raisins (the nuts I use in the video had raisins included)

150g dessicated coconut

1 tablespoon wheat grass (this is optional and you can use any greens type powder you work well on to bump your geens intake up)

2 tablespoons of almond/cashew nut butter (melted down at low temp)

200g of coconut oil (melted and added to above nut butter)

1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract

100g of 70-90% melted dark chocolate

Now here comes the easy part – just combine all the ingredients and pop in the fridge for an hour or two.

9 kilos in 6 weeks. A stone and a half. I should write a book. It’s easy. And your meals are a lot more satisfying than a plate full of potatoes or pasta.

Tim Howard went Paleo a year ago and produced a magnificent performance on the biggest stage of all a couple of nights ago.
