Diet & Nutrition

I joined a kettle bell club there about 2 months ago with the aim of losing weight and building a bit of strength. I lost 10 kgs in 7 weeks just by following a bit of nutritional advice from the trainer(he’s big into paleo) and training 3 mornings a week. I’ve moved onto a personal plan that he did for me now using kettlebells and barbells. I only takes about 40 mins max each morning. Eating a lot of meat, eggs and veg at the moment, never really feel that hungry anymore

Access to a track is a big plus. Lots of hot women running these days aswell;)

It’s the way forward. I love this fucking diet. It doesn’t feel like a diet at all. Looking forward to seeing how I look and feel in say a year’s time.

Paleo, ftw.

A banana mashed up and mixed with two eggs, fried in coconut oil, makes a gorgeous pancake, top with yogurt berries and honey. Perfection.

@Thrawneen, if you hate weights circuits might do the job for you?

Anyone know what the healthiest museli/granola brand on the market is? Alpen? Lifeforce?

good question, was going to ask that myself recently

FYI Information @Mark Renton: I’ve given up yogurts in the past two weeks. Apparently most “low fat” or “0% fat” yogurts instead contain a load of sugar, which is very bad for you. I now eat a banana before my evening work out and have a fruit selection for my tea afterwards.

You shouldn’t eat fruit after lunch time. It will kill you.

I told you months ago to stay away from low fat products such as this.

Really?

How so?

Did you never hear the rhyme…

Strawberries, oranges and pears at night
Turn your organs to shite

Bad rhyme and no metre

@Thrawneen Is there any type of paleo friendly porridge you would r3ecommend?

Fruit is generally good but that’s not an ideal meal mate. For a post exercise meal a load of fruity as no protein and has a high glycemic index, ie it is high in natural sugar and will be rapidly digested. You’d be much better off with some scrambled eggs. At the least you should add a good load of Greek yogurt and some chopped nuts to your fruit.

I only eat the good fruits, pal. And I only enjoy scrambled eggs made with milk and milk is very bad for you so I won’t be having them. I believe your advice is flawed. @Mark Renton, please advise.

What are good fruits? My advice re GI of your meal and protein still stands. Milk is good. Or in any event the small amount of milk in scrambled eggs won’t do any harm. You could always boil or poach the eggs either.

Milk is for cows. It’s not meant to be consumed by humans.

I eat mixed berries, oranges, avocados and such like.

I have my protein as part of my main meal at lunchtime - fish, meat or whatever.

You should have protein with every meal. You eat avocado with berries? That’s weird mate.

Yes. In such instances you should always go full fat.
