Donal O'Grady new Limerick manager

throw up your source or leave it go, someone on afr posted the details you did(just the details mind none of the breaking news hidden source shit) over half an hour before you did.
this story is doing the rounds since before the weekend, dont be desperate for a scoop its a bit cringeworthy

any clown that walks this year will get no sympathy, those days are gone you dont get a second chance acting like that

even the Ogs didnt walk after they were landed with the Waterford football manager

Fine replace Luceys name with Niall Moran or any other of the whiny bitches that were on the '09 panel

a couple of points before I log off for fear of being too negative on this.

  1. The only managers who have been capable of motivating Limerick enough to bring them to an All Ireland have been native Limerick men. Why keep turning to outsiders ? It’s like a broken marriage " I know it didn’t work the last time, but maybe if I give it one more chance"

  2. I remember the hullabaloo when Justin was appointed. It was like the greatest coup ever. Really put one over on Waterford. We all saw where that one went. And Justin was a manager supposedly at the top of his game then. O’Grady hasn’t managed a county team for 5 years. Why?

Its more the structures that I was talking about WTB. Frank was not a great man about thinking about the future, (well he did think about his own future I suppose!), so development squads were not focussed on as much as in other counties like Tipp and KK. Coupled with that the decline in competitiveness(sp?) of their schools in Harty etc I would still say that they are lagging behind. Given their population they should be delivering an All-Ireland every 3/4 years.

The point was that Niall Moran and others were unhappy with the standars of training. That shouldn’t be an issue next year.

It’s not the first time or the last time this bunch have or will find a reason to be unhappy.it seems a regular occurrence with them.

Which bunch exactly RTT? Lucey is probably gone, Foley is definitely gone. Two of the main protagonists in any recent troubles. Dont make the mistake of tarring them all with the same brush.

No its not, far from it. we are ahead of everyone except Tipp & KK, probably on a par with Waterford and Dublin. Cork had very good Minor teams last 3 years without getting over the line, there is no comparison between us and the likes of Wexford. Our development programme is really only kicking in now, i expect the next couple of years to be better again.

mbb being badly shown up here, no susrprise he as usual disappears when he’s caught out.

What is TJ Ryan’s coaching/management experience could anyone tell me?

He trained Kilcornan Junior B’s for a while a couple of years ago.

[/quote] It was only a matter of time before you came on shiteing as usual I suppose.. I opted out not to drag the thread off topic when there was a decent debate going on. Who on earth would sell out their source because some mong on the internet asked you to? My source was strong my source was right. I didn’t shite on here with false rumours, when I was assured it was true I posted it, simple as that. My record is Good with regards these matters.

I’m not tarring them all with the same brush, but as everyone knows there are still a few trouble makers in there.

Hold on now, I wouldn’t be going as far as to call Wexford underage shambles. Management and Board decisions possibly yes. We should have contested and All-ireland final a few years ago but we lost it on the line v Galway who went on to win. We got the great Tipp minor team a few years ago to extra time and were pipped. We were beating Corks, KKs, Waterfords below the minor grade handy enough but for whatever reason never brought it through to the Minor grade.
I would definitely be putting us on par with Cork underage for the last decade anyway Kev

Who the fuck do you think you are? You’re an accountant who spends most his day on a small irish sports site. Nobody gives a fuck about you or your source. People put stuff up here all the time, and don’t look for some sort of clap on the back for it. As well as it being funny because this has been out in common GAA circles for weeks.

You are very strange.

Your living in dream world Pike. Any Cork team under Minor is split in at least 3, 4 usually in football. City, East/North & Mid/West/Duhallow in hurling. Thats one major thing for a start. Ye have no Provincial titles, Cork has. Just because Cork hasn’t been winning All-Irelands doesn’t mean we don’t have good underage. The management at U-21 leaves a little to be desired, but they were still the only team to really rattle Tipp this year.

I would like to see Wexford improve, but in fairness maybe the reason ye are not doing so well is that ye actually think ye are doing ok. i never said it was a shambles by the way, that was Hannibal.

An accountant?!

Some of the Limerick crowd here are awful strange. You get a manager with a proven track record to try and resurrect the shambles that was last year along with 3 good established intercounty hurlers from the past 10 years and half of you are looking at the negative side of it. If O’Grady had taken over Wexford with Storey, Dunne and Dempsey involved I’d be fairly sure we’d be celebrating. Did last year kill the confidence of Limerick fans by that much? I think its a massive achievement to have him on board and I think it’s brilliant for Limerick. You’d hope one of the 3 should learn enough from him to hopefully take over managing the team in the future.
