Unfortunately I believe your calculations are correct Bandage and you must undergo a new theory test.
I got the new licence in January, just a few days after it was introduced. Stopped at a checkpoint last week but they only had a quick look at the tax and insurance before waving me on.
I know a few people who have been done for driving on a provisional and caught unaccompanied, it seems the Guards are actively looking to clamp down on it. Mind you I was stopped a couple of times before I passed the test and was let off with a warning - on both occasions the Guards said that I wasn’t insured when driving on my own but I’m not sure how true that is? If it is accurate you’d be fucked if you had a tip on a provisional and no one with you. It’s a fairly stupid rule in fairness.

I think it’s fairly reasonable that an unqualified driver be accompanied by a qualified driver or I’d have no qualms with them banned from the road altogether until they’re qualified.
In a professional context would a trainee sign a set of accounts? He surely would not.

Poor example.
Would a recently qualified accountant sign off on a set of accounts?
He surely would not.

I’m happy with my example.
Thanks pal - you’ve been a great help to me. In fact, you’re to driving licences as Chocco is to diet and nutrition.

Your lucky not to get a Watch You’re Spelling rating here.
A nice lady in the RSA responded to my formal email query to confirm that, given my last provisional expired more than 5 years ago, I must start the process of applying for the learner permit as a beginner again.

So that means: completing the theory test first, getting my eyesight report form completed by my optician and then sending them both off with the completed learner permit application form. I’ll also need to include 2 photographs (of myself), proof of identity (birth cert or passport) and proof of address (utility bill) and my theory test cert.

When I get my learner permit, I’ll then have to complete the 12 mandatory lessons before sitting the driving test.

This is the start of a very exciting journey for me.
For us all pal, for us all.

Crucial for driver education and future road safety.
In your case maybe, Bandage.

No but a newly qualified driver has to have R plates for 2 years after they pass

Two points of order ape.
I think we’ve established before that accountancy is not a profession.
And as farmer points out it’s a poor example. Which beanmonkey signs what is of no consequence to the general populace. When bandage knocks down and kills a wexford gaa head on his provisional because he’s posting on whether it’s a spot or not(obviously not) it will be of consequence to the populace(well, a tiny, tiny and very weird minority of it).

That’s a fairly poor post. It’s been long established here that GAA players/(lack of) personalities are not spots in any case.
Only townies should be made do them 12 lessons country folk should be able to get a full license without even sitting the test
A point i outlined. Doesn’t stop lads arguing about whether they are or not though.
Rocko I think my license is expiring in the next few months, I can’t find it to check anyway. I want to get one of the new ones. Do I need to get a special photograph taken or something? What’s the procedure? Can’t find a website with up to date information.
