Dublin Bay North Constituency Thread

Averil Power is quitting FF

whats her plans?

To supply the country with ginger babies.

She wasn’t going to get the FF nomination. Michael Woods daughter will be on the ticket.

Independent. Some race among the independents in Dublin Bay North now - Finian McGrath, Tommy Broughan, Averil Power, Cian O’Callaghan.

With gender quotas etc there’s no way she wasn’t going to be on the ticket. Even at the weekend Micheál Martin was going out of his way to praise her. They were trying to make her the de facto FF leader in Dublin and she was long groomed by FF for a senior role. FF don’t let little things like local nominations get in their way.

That’s it in a nutshell. She’s only a blow in to the northside and was never going to get a nomination there.

They’ll miss her distinctive voice.

Gender quotas? Michael Woods DAUGHTER will be on the ticket. Power would have been scrambling to get on and caused all sorts of problems and she knows it.

Sean Haughey will be also on the ticket. They couldn’t put three on and after the Mary Hanafin debacle there is no way they could get her on and she knows it.

M Martin is a dead man walking. There will be a heave within two weeks of the next election.

As Ebeneezer has said - Michael Woods daughter will get nominated (with Sean Haughey). Deirdre Heney ahead of her in the pecking order locally as well. She had zero chance of getting elected. The Champ has been plugging here in a major way, but the Champ is dead man walking as leader at this stage.

Snap

Some horrible after-timing here but I noticed she was hanging out with Colm O’Gorman, Independent Senators and other interest group people at referendum result build-up and announcement coverage at Dublin Castle. I should have known this was in the offing. Renua?

Renua would not want to be associated with the class of individual as Averil Power.

:DRenua got 9% of the vote in Carlow/Kilkenny. We are voting for parties with no policies now. Fuck me.

Yeah, stupid on my part. Averil’s support of gay rights, Palestine and stuff wouldn’t sit well with them. But she’s had some cordial TV exchanges with Creighton in the past. Is yer man who did the car crash radio interview on the day of Renua’s launch in her constituency?

Fionan Fathead will now have to double his anti-IRA input to ensure himself and Averil stay in clover.

Yes. He said he had a long day though. He was up at 6am and the interview was after 5pm the poor divil.

Paul Murphy was woken and arrested at 7am in his pyjamas. What time does he get up?? Well for them.

Woods was only the second tier candidate in the locals for her own ward and got 700 votes. It was a dismal performance. Power was the closest FF came to a Dublin seat in the last General Election. She had every chance of getting elected this time. Haughey was a bigger danger with his support but if he got on the ticket then they’d definitely have added Power too. The profile she was given nationally by the party was evidence of them doing their utmost to get her elected.

Does it matter a fuck how many votes she got when it comes to dynasties and local conventions. She wouldn’t have got on the ticket!! Woods will be nominated with Sean Haughey and that would have left Martin with the task of trying to get her on…gender quota wouldn’t be an excuse and they couldn’t run with three.

She won’t get in as an Independent either. She should go and have babies.
