Over, but who are they deep down?
Hurling men?
Football men?
Money men?

Money men?
Money Men
Money Men
Football men
Money men
Power Men
Football Men
Vincents Mafia Men
So no hurling.
Thats kinda my point.
Cork is the same only other way around.
The GAA and Cork CB needs a strong cork hurling team. That said …
Ah I was being facetious. There are passionate hurling men but money talks, and as long as the footballers are as successful as they are, thats where all the attention and power goes.
That’s one reason I’d like to see Gilroy there. He’d accept nothing less than equality if not more. And he’d have the backing for it as well
I think thats partly why i thought it was a great idea from day 1.
Football could do with Cork too.
New system will bring a few more teams up to scratch though in time
Too right, didn’t the mob give poor Mickey Whelan an awful doing when he was manager.
And Tommy Lyons .
And Pillar
Pillar didn’t get half what Lyons and Mickey got
Lyons brought it on himself with his fuckololgy. What happened Mickey Whelan was disgraceful.
It would indeed be interesting to see what Gilroy would bring to the this.
And I don’t think he’d care if he was second best or not, nor would he seek equality. He’d just want what’s best for the team he was involved with.
It’s always amused that the lower profile county teams in dual counties would seek equality rather than focussing on what best suits their needs, be that more or less than their counter parts.
Do they have the hurlers to be truly competitive?
Yes .
Negative, they’re forever drafting in cast-off muldoons
Whelan was blackguarded. Lyons was a bit of an eejit but not sure he deserved the shit he got that day in Croke Park
He didn’t deserve that . No one does . It was horrible .
My comment on second best was the attitude from the DCB more than anything. They aren’t afforded all the courtesies extended the footballers - there’s no doubt about that.
There are pros and cons for each of the candidates but I can’t help think that letting Mattie go would be a mistake. He’s proven, hurling to the core and knows his stuff, knows Dublin hurling and I think he knows what they need individually. Organised to the nth as well.
In saying all that, Gilroy will not take no shit from no one where ‘his’ team is concerned, and will put some manners on a couple of them that are a bit diva-esque. And maybe that’s what’s needed? But I don’t like the sound of his 2nd man - Cunningham - because I think he’s another version of his namesake, i.e. just after the €€€€
Ultimately I think Mattie is the better hurling man. If he and Gilroy could work together in a Manager & Director of Hurling in some way, we could have a dream team. Mattie doesn’t want that though from what I understand
Anyhoo, we should know in a bit
Is Mattie the lad that used to run out with the Galway team he was a selector?
