Dublin GAA Thread

Only realised at the weekend it isn’t televised. I’m going to miss it as it clashes with a family stag. Had originally assumed it was going to be on tv and was looking forward to watching it. Heard Parnell is sold out for it, so there should be a good atmosphere there.

are we talking Dara Power?

Thats him

The few games I was at I thought he was everywhere but Centre Back. That’s a big problem for a centre back. I wouldn’t have him there.

They would be claiming him in Ballyheigue in North Kerry alright!

started out hurling in Dublin later played a lot of juvenile in Ballyheigue - I d say both u12 and u14 before returning to Dublin

His uncle won a good few senior hurling championships with Ballyheigue

Thought I saw tickets online last night?

Yeah that sounds about right. A Fingallians man. As @Fat_Pox said a great lad.

A big picture of Shane Walsh in the middle of the article with no caption

This is a tremendous idea from Jarlath. I wouldn’t agree with his contention that Dublin div 1 clubs have enough players in their area.

It applies to Boden, Crimes and Na Fianna but certainly not in Dublin 3 or 5 were you have Vinnie’s Clontarf,Craobh, Raheny, Parnell’s, etc all fishing in the same pond

Good idea in principle alright but if a fella was to move into Malahide, Donabate, Rolestown etc and division one standard it would be a fair kick in the stones to be told you would have to go play for a neighbouring club

When did Donal O Shea move to Cuala?

I reckon you’ve much more to gain than lose here. No point making a decision on what ifs

Is a country lad allowed join a Dublin division 1 club if he only wants to play a bit of junior D hurling?

Jarlath is a proper fucking busybody.

Lads getting very exercised about where a lad chooses to pursue a hobby.

I was at an AHL 5 match this week Binky

Playing one of the big super clubs( their 3rd team though0, I was doing umpire

The keeper was an outfield player playing in goals for the night , a tipp man playing 17 years for the super club, floating between the 2nd team and 3rds over the years he told me

Would Jarlaths proposal rule out that chap joining said club as their 1st team are an AHL1 team?

I wouldnt be in favour of Jarlath’s proposal to be honest

Fairly low percentage of country lads playing AHL1 in Dublin I would have thought. Alot less than years ago.
