Kearney’s on dame street has unreal Porter.
O Donoghues and dame tavern are really solid too.

Grogans was shut down the entire time. It bizarrely refused to do takeaway pints, nearly the only place on South William Street that wouldn’t. It’s owner was a complete nob-jockey, bitching in the media about the take-away pints going on outside while he was following the rules. It was social media posts by Grogans that led to increased policing/restrictions IIRC.
I am a former regular of the place. At one stage during the lockdown I bought a can of spray paint to desecrate the place and made a point of pissing on it every single time I was drinking outside in city centre during lockdown. I hope to never drink in it again. Peter’s Pub is now the place to be, the pub of the people

Bowes has a famous pint of Guinness, don’t know if it’s a good spot for a tourist.
Edit: also the Gravediggers - great for a tourist but far out.

Best pint of Guiness I ever had in Dublin was in Neds of Townend Street. They’ve it knocked for a fucking hotel or something now. Was a right kip to be fair
Agree rating, the North Inner City or the Liberties are the only places you should go for the best pints of Guinness.
