What would be good suggestions for pubs in Dublin to watch the World Cup final in after first attending Croke Park? So would probably move quite a bit from Croke Park area first, open to any suggestions.
Where are you parking or staying? I find that Meaghers and Gaffney’s out towards fairview are always just nicely busy after a match.
I’m staying with a friend in Howth and getting the dart in.
Fairview would work - 5 minute walk to Clontarf dart station.
Otherwise just on a dart and get out in Bayside and make the short stroll over to the Bayside inn.

What about the Woolshed? I was there years ago for some big match or other and seemed a good place to watch a match. Probably looking for something with a bit of a buzz and able to watch the match, crowd I’m with would be more into atmosphere than watching the soccer.
Never inside it. Murray’s at the top of O’Connell street in a modern enough pub aimed at the tourist/templebar criwdwhere there would be a bit of live music on during the match.
You could easily book a spot there to guarantee seats

Woolshed is a good place to watch a match. I’d imagine it will be very busy. You might want to see if it’s possible to book a table.
I’m going to make the definitive call here with two options. Camden palace or diceys. Both will be rammed with Spaniards and argies (are we still allowed say spicks?) which is what you want for the world cup.

I watched the first half of the 2010 World Cup final in Murray’s O’Connell Street. Tried to get a place in the outdoor beer garden place between Murray’s and another pub on Cathal Brugha Street which it shares the place with but it was too wedged.
Ended up in the upstairs smoking area of O’Neill’s in Suffolk Street for the second half and extra time. This area became an occasional haunt to watch a live match over the following four years including the Paddy’s weekend massacre by Gerrard and Suarez at Old Trafford in 2014.
The Harp Bar at O’Connell Bridge seems to be a big “big screen” pub these days. I think the Argentina supporters were gathered there the other night and it was certainly choc full of Arsenal cunts when I passed it on Sunday May 24th this year at about 6pm.

I’d imagine the Woolshed would be packed with foreigners for it? I remember it being a big haunt for international matches
Plenty of atmosphere be nice, probably need a biggish place where we can go in earlyish and get a seat. Consensus seems to be somewhere in Fairview, two lads said Gaffney’s

Where’d you end up?
We walked from croke park to Dublin and searched for a pub for probably an hour. Actually someone in my party (not me) wanted to go to the Woolshed so we started queueing there around 7.15. At 7.30 the queue hadn’t moved and the manager came out to say they were full up. What harm but them Spaniards would go in there and not even put their hand in their pocket for a second drink. My party would have had 6-8 drinks each but anyhow. The only place close to the match start where we could get a seat was Madigans. It wasn’t great tbh but there was women with us who were wrecked from the day and wanted to sit down. We watched it on a tiny grainy TV across the pub.
