Dublin Riots 2018

You do in your bollox.
You support a justice system that gives suspended sentences to criminals that offend dozens and sometimes hundreds of times.
You are in favor of light sentencing for criminals, that is well established.

Ah, look who it is, as predictable as a German train timetable.

And falling hook, line and sinker into the idiot trap unintentionally set for you by your reactionary forum friends.

You claim to preach personal responsibility, while preaching the exact opposite.

Lots of people who work behave in all manner of despicable criminal ways, by the way. And youā€™d have to be incredibly naive to think otherwise. But then again, thatā€™s exactly what you are.

Thats not what I am saying. Iā€™m just understanding the how and why this stuff happensā€¦ Iā€™m not saying it gives a right but christ thereā€™s no comparison between the robbing of a lidl vs the robbing of this country and the hypocrisy at play.

Nice dodge.
The behavior seen in Dublin is directly as a result of left wing politics, which has created a multi generational welfare state. People who have never had to work for a living have a hard time seeing reality.

Iā€™m in favour of actual solutions that have been proven to work ie. appropriate sentencing and appropriate rehabilitation.

And in terms of that, Ireland, or anywhere, has absolutely nothing to learn from what goes on in the US in that regard.

Again, the idiot who preaches personal responsibility decides to throw personal responsibility out the window to serve the political agenda of idiots.

The lack of self awareness is hilarious.

Proven to work
Tell that to the victims of violent thugs roaming the country, having had suspended sentences handed down dozens of times.
Ireland has a lot to learn from the US in terms of dealing with violent criminals. Violent crime deserves prison time, and repeat offenders deserve long sentences. End of story.

Apparently people who work donā€™t commit crime, mate.

How many left wing governments has Ireland ever had?

More dodging.
Answer the question, does a welfare state encourage or discourage the behavior under discussion.

Fianna Fail, who have been the party in power for most of the countryā€™s existence, adapted left wing policies to remain in power. Who created the ridiculous welfare state in Ireland if it wasnā€™t Fianna Fail?

Shame @Ambrose_McNulty is no longer with us, heā€™d have something to add here.

Well said @Sidney . Complete overaction here from the right wing zelots. 8 lads have been arrested and that should be the end of the matter. TallaĆ aaa is a grand spot, everywhere has scumbags.

The US system is a complete failure in dealing with violent crime, which is why there are 13,000 gun homicides a year and two and a quarter million people in prison with a further nearly five million on probation or parole.

As usual, the Scandinavians, with their extensive welfare states, lead the way in dealing with criminals, why is why their recidivism rates are far lower than other European countries.

the behaviour is directly as a result of social exclusion

Who the fuck is this @Ambrose_McNulty imposter?

Who the fuck are you?

Thereā€™s nothing wrong with the welfare state when run properly. Ireland has done a piss poor job and created a vicious cycle of generational long term unemployment. The Scandos are just that bit more evolved than us.

So the justice system is now responsible for people killing each other? How interesting.
Perhaps the people who indulge in violent crime are responsible?
