Dublin v Kerry SFC Semi Final
You said Gooch couldnā€™t play 11 in the modern game. You were wrong on Connolly. Kerry were a point down on 69 mins and on 68 hit a wide that would have had them ahead. You predicted a 7-8 point win for dublin as in a comfortable win. It wasnā€™t, the margin was hugely flattering. You lucked out on the 7 point call.

Iā€™m not saying you got it all wrong, but you pretty much wrote off Kerry and gave no hint you thought they had that kind of performance in them, so as for a vindication of your calling on where these teams stand, Iā€™m calling bollox on that one.
Where was Goich when they put a marker in him? Cian O Sullivan pretty much ate him up. Kerry and Goich changed tact and it took till half time to sort it, but Gavin did. Gavin was superb yesterday.

I predicted, like 90% of the country, that the dubs would pull away near the end. Hence my 7-8 point prediction. Kerry donā€™t have the legs, I was very very sure in Dublins legs and their strong will to keep playing their way that nothing Kerry could do could win the game an they would be over run. They were. They threw the kitchen sink and Dublin and the Dubs prevailed. By 7 points.

I got it right, the way it happened is irrilivant really if you were to look say from a betting perspective. The means of how it happened I got about 85-90% right.

You should really be more patient in your attempts to catch me out. When I posted that vindication post you were the exact guy I thought would react.

After all the hoopla about the great game etc, from 20 mins on Dublin dominated that game. It panned out very like alot of people thought. A couple of wayward shots and dodgy frees kept Kerry in it.

Thatā€™s a Galway man talking. Moran you are right about, but you are way off in others.

Unreal. What a day. Bury my heart on Hill 16. I wouldnā€™t have had it any other way than the way we won today.

Happy birthday @caoimhaoin

Canā€™t wait to watch this game.

dubs gave the greatest footballer in the last 30 years (at least) the freedom of croke park and kerry 3 goals in the first half and still out footballed themā€¦amazingā€¦as my analysts @Mac will admit I said james o donoghue would run amok againts usā€¦as i tried to tell @Bandage that ger brennan is useless when heĀ“s not on the ball and as i told @caoimhaoin that connolly is simply just a classs act and developing into a great leaderā€¦but for me the man of the match was the guy I sĀ”gnalled out a while ago - cian o sullivanā€¦what performanceā€¦how he didnĀ“t get a man of the match was a jokeā€¦the gooch wasnĀ“t bothered tracking him up the field in the second half and it cost kerryā€¦arrogance isnĀ“t having darragh o se, sean o sullivan , jack o connor, tadgh kennelly, mikey sheehy or whoever writng in the nationals about how kerry donĀ“t fear dublinā€¦arrogance is the way jim gavin kept his cool when all around him were panicking and calling for change ā€¦instead he kept believing in total footballā€¦dublin are a serious outfitā€¦thereĀ“s no denying dublins young lads feared the kerry jersey - mannion, mccaffrey and kilkenny were defo overawed by itā€¦the whole halfback line got minced in the first halfā€¦
I really think dublin are going to beat the snot out of mayoā€¦they are just too talented and also too confidentā€¦but donĀ“t expect jim gavin to be talking shit on the airwaves about itā€¦

Time will tell. Happy birthday mate, have a barbie

Will Ger be fit for the final? Ankle ligaments, Iā€™m hearing.
Thinking of backing HT Kerry FT Dublin in this one.

Think Kerryā€™s superior natural ability will show in the first half but their older legs will tire in second half with Dublin going on to win

Jim Gavins post match interview on RTE Radio finished with him saying he was looking forward to finally going into a match as underdogs in the final

The panellists nearly swallowed their microphones in laughter. Heā€™s a very savvy manager. He could do with teaching his players to be less selfish when close to goal too. They should have had 4 other goals. Even the last 2 were poor selection as others were better placed. Theyā€™ll hardly get that lucky again.
