It’s easy to defend well when you’re playing against a pub team, a one man attack and a three man forward line made up of midgets and a crocked old man, as Mayo have done in their last three matches.
Dublin’s high pressing game will rape Mayo, especially the likes of Cafferkey who is slow and ponderous coming out with the ball.
Expect the scoreline at the 10 minute mark to be something like Dublin 2-5 Mayo 0-0.
Is this rape in the Ashley Cole type rape?
the only lazy viewer around hereis you pal…go back to the Dublin kildare match when I had to explain to you Cian O Sullivan’s performance and role and how you made a fool of yourself trying to ridicule him as a midfielder…
I look forward to seeing if you are right about Mayo not going defensive for any part of the game this sunday…
He is and always will be. He’s nowhere near the level he was 2,34 years ago even though the media tries to big him up.
Gavin made a massive mistake thinking Brennan was the man for him, but he did the right thing eventually an did what everyone shoul be doing, put a fast tagger in him and show him no respect (or at least not too much respect).
The Gooch and Kerry fooled/bullied the refs into over protecting him and managers stopped their tight marking guys going hard. 2009 was the worst in AI final. He got an armchair ride since then.
Any bit of space at all and he’ll kill you. He gets that at club and was getting it with Kerry too as for some bizarre reason it took 2.5 games for a few manager to cop into what to do.
I expect little from him from now on.
that’s very simplistic… gooch getting the right ball is virtually impossible to mark…especially for a centre back because he has to try and hold the middle too…thats why centre back is hardest position on pitch to play and centre forward is the position with most freedom…brennan was lost in every sense…he lost his nerve completely…like I said I thnk he’ll be more suited to Mayo running direct through the middle…
Gavin’s mistake wasn’t thinking Brennan was the man to mark Gooch, his mistake was thinking gooch didn’t need a specific man marker…i think in second half the ball coming into gooch was a lot more 50/50 and that suited o Sullivan as he’s very tenacious…
I totally agree about Gooch and winning handy frees…its ridiculous at this stage…
I think I’m right in saying that McAuley only played at midfield for the last 20 minutes of last year’s semi-final, which coincidentally, Dublin completely dominated.
Number of goals Mayo have scored against Dublin’s dodgy full-back line in their last four meetings: 0.
Not sure it was worth stating in the first place let alone to repeat.
I have only heard of 3 people that have a ticket - @Bandage , Ryan Tubridy and @Mac …If that’s the type of wanker that’s heading to Croker on sunday I wouldn’t be bothered strolling down towards gills if I were u pal…
Managers generally look at videos of past performances and gather statistics from those games as a method of preparation, and to try and evaluate what the merits of the coming game are.
Two of those games were against Dublin under that system and manager, thereby making the stat extemely relevant.
But Mayo are on a mission, and that’s all that matters.
They are destiny’s child.
Let’s hope they don’t lose their breath when the ball is thrown, like they usually do.

League is mere shadow boxing compared to Championship, don’t you know it is only as relevant as an O Byrne Cup game?
Let’s hope they don’t lose their breath when the ball is thrown, like they usually do.
I don’t think its as dramatic mayo losing their breath when the ball is thrown in…they might just meet a team that has more match winners than them…and if those matchwinner’s perform mayo will lose…if they don’t mayo could win…
