Don’t think it was expected that CCV, Trusty & Kuhn would be out. Any news on reasons? Johnston came into the final last weekend with a knock & took another one during the game. Forrest is out for 6 weeks with a foot injury sustained when he came on too.
Some sort of bug or virus apparently.
Ralston and Welsh in a back four feels very Covid seasony.
Bug for the two central defenders, a sore knee for Kuhn & Johnston still feeling the bang on the hip, according to Rodgers pre match.
Welsh has a seriously annoying habit of playing easy passes the wrong side of the intended target. Slows everything down, even the simple square balls to Scales are all to his back foot & not a yard in front of him to stride onto.
It’s infuriating.

That’s pretty frustrating. United playing into the teeth of a very strong & swirling 50mph wind & have booted the ball away rubby style & camped out on the edge of their box. Celtic actually played some good combination football despite the conditions & packed defence but haven’t worked the keeper at all. 9 shots, only 1 on target, & didn’t take advantage a few times when players got in behind but didn’t play the right cut back or whatever. There’s a risk this could get tricky now, as I felt 1 goal could see the dam burst a bit, but I think they might be able to get territory themselves after half time with the big Dalby fella upfront & with the conditions in their favour. McCowan was very good for half an hour but nothing went right for him after that. This could be the type of game where Engels & Bernardo need to come on & use their running power against the elements & Idah could be needed to hold the ball up too.
Yeah think we did ok but the conditions are tough and we took the wrong option on the couple of times we seemed to break them down. Thought Yang’s ball across was an ok decision actually. One of the players in the box should have gone towards goal, they all held back for the cut back.
McCowan was good and then his touch went away from him as you say. I think we need to keep trying to unlock those little spaces to get the midfield three into those gaps in front of the defence.
They’ll go long now in the second half and try and bully Welsh or Taylor in the air I imagine. Agree that Bernardo or Engels might make a physical difference if they come on.
Yeah agreed on the Yang one actually. But he’s been fairly disappointing overall. Could do with him stepping up with Kuhn & Forrest out but wing is one of the positions where there seems to be quite a drop off between the regular starters & back up options.
Palma & Idah for Yang & McCowan. Maybe a change of shape?
The ref is doing a superb job of obstructing Celtic players & blocking passing angles.
Scales isn’t slowing the ball down like he used to. He’s playing well.
Last 10 minutes was scales playing nice balls into palma who would waste it
One of those days. Thought Rodgers was too slow to bring on Bernardo & Engels. Yang didn’t take his chance & Palma isn’t the answer. It’s gone under the radar a bit but Kyogo is having a relatively disappointing season, he needs to be burying that chance when Idah played him in around the corner.
Badly needed another winger there. I thought Valle might have come on to give something else out wide.
Few poor performances in that but really just collectively too slow. Kyogo not even getting a shot off for that huge chance was very unlike him but terrible. Palma isn’t at the level at all. Nor is Welsh.
Was disappointed we left the back four intact when we were chasing the game. Welsh and Ralston were too slow on the ball and thought we could gave gambled a bit more.
Think Idah should have started instead of kyogo knowing the way Dundee untied play and also with that wind .palma was set up for a fall by being introduced in them conditions , Rodgers obviously wants him gone
Idah always looks dangerous when he plays at spl level
When teams sit back He brings his teammates way more into play in dangerous areas than kyogo does
He’s a different kind of threat. Don’t understand him not starting these games tbh.
