I think he’s being very optimistic.
Basically all they’ll have left of the line at this stage is the route. It’s impassable due to the growth of bushes and trees, also a lot of the sleepers have disintegrated. I’d assume they will need to replace the entire length of track.

Who would be favourite to replace him? Previously it would have been Catherine Martin but she’s damaged by the RTE debacle, hasn’t covered herself in glory there. Doubt it’ll be Roderick either he feels a bit divisive. Could see someone fresh get it but is there anyone like that in their ranks as a TD?
