I can’t understand it. If you look at the respective team sheets only Pirlo would get in the England team. If Harry Redknapp was managing us we would have won that.
Time to close the thread dickheads.
It’s time for the boys to show the Dunkirk spirit. We’re down but not out. Next Thursday is D-Day.
Defining moments of the night:
Pirlo’s free kick.
Rooney’s corner.

If both teams play to their potential, England win. Simple as.
???
Its a month long marathon not a sprint. Spain lost their first game in 2010 and won the tournament. Argentina in 1978, West Germany in 1954 & 74 also lost group games but ultimately prevailed. Italy lost their first game in 1994 and got to the final.
The lads played reasonably well, there are areas that need to be improved on but I’d be pretty confident of emerging from the group still and going along way in the tournament. Most unsatisfactory of all was the fact that in a tournament to date afflicted by bad refereeing, Gerrard wasn’t awarded what was a stonewall penalty.
We have to face up to the fact that Rooney will not be dropped so let’s hope a system is adopted that will not leave us so open next game.
-----------Hart---------------
Johnson- Jags-Cahill- Baines
---------Gerrard----------
Lallana--------Hendo
Sterling------- Rooney
---------Sturridge--------
Rooney does not have the tactical discipline to be played in an out and out position, so leave the cunt and Sterling have a free role and roam around the final third dragging defenders with them. Gerrard cannot play in an orthodox two man midfield, playing him behind Lallana and Henderson will allow him dictate the tempo and between the three of them should offer protection to the full backs. Henderson and Lallana both have a serious engine and Lallana in particular can pop the ball around, something which is seriously lacking from the team. Woy loves his 4-4-2 tho so I expect no changes.

But England didn’t play a 4-4-2 the other night so Hodgson’s now shown he’ll try something else. Why would you have the centre backs switch sides, pal? Three players with effectively free roles? You’re having a laugh here.
Getting pretty tense now waiting on the starting team to come through. Make or break for the lads but I’m pretty confident they’ll pull through. Obviously, there’s the three failures to qualify in 1974, 78 & 94 but apart from that in the last 10 World Cup finals England have competed in stretching back to 1962, they’ve always got out of the group and made it to the knock out stages.
Let God be in his heaven again.
camaaaaaaaaaaannnnn!!
Uruguay will play better tonight which sets it up for a good game
Great rendition there… i’m fucking pumped.
Terrific singing from the lads and the English fans.
The booing was uncalled for though. Lets shove it down the throats of the yobs that disrespected Her Majesty.
Right, I am going down the Irish pub now to watch Engerland. We will fight them on the beaches.
I’m in love with Luis Suarez.
