Epl 2011/2012

If United could get a decent central midfield player they would be untouchable.

Agreed.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Where was Rooney today, strange that they rested him (if that was the plan) as they have just dropped 2pts now. Also, presume Smalling did not recover from his injury to slot in at right back? He has impressed me when i have seen him this season…

Rooney was ruled out with a slight hamstring strain, Dunph.

Paddy Kenny has just made a super save from a Bannon free. QPR have been very much on top for most of the half though. Second week in a row I’ve seen Villa and they’ve been shit both times.

Oh dear, an injury time own goal from Richard Dunne gives QPR a well-deserved draw.

Literally only saw injury time in that game. That own goal was absolutely not Dunne’s fault though. Collins didn’t deal with a long punt, Hutton allowed their player to cross the loose ball too easily and then Warnock struck his clearance off Dunne.

Gary Neville giving Dunne the kiss of death there naming him man of the match before the injury time started.

Oh absolutely. As Shan says, the Neviller had just given him MOTM and you can get no higher praise than that. Was quite a decent game actually. QPR are a decent outfit, but didn’t create much with all the possession they had. Villa were good for 20 minutes at the start of the second half, got a soft enough penalty to take the lead. QPR the better team for the other 70 minutes though.

Didn’t see the game but Villa are absolutely dire from what I’ve seen from them this season. They’ve had a handy start to the season and haven’t made the most of it, think they will be battling relegation, especially with McLeish in charge. From midfield up they are as bad a team as there is in the league.

QPR are a class above them- they will be raging throwing away 2 points

Paddy Kenny cannot be overlooked for much longer.

McLeish is working wonders at Villa. Are they still unbeaten?

A turgid encounter between two awful teams. Villa are much better defensively this season but like the Irish international side can’t string even 4 or 5 passes together in the opposition half. QPR for all their possession created little or nothing. Barton, SWP, Tarrabt and in particular Bothroyd were anonymous. Faurlin and Luke Young were decent. Traore at left back is a clown player.

For Villa, Charles Nzogbia is having the worst start to a Villa career that I can remember. The lad from Cobh started his first game in over a year. To be fair he doesn’t lose the ball and at least worked harder than usual but incredibly lightweight. Bannan is the same. Delph looks worse every time I see him. Can’t see how he was worth 8m, think once Clark gets fit he will get a shot in midfield next to Petrov who scrapped well but offers nothing with the ball.

Going to be a long boring season for Villa I’m afraid unless the attacking players can develop some sort of understanding.

Two Irish captains in tonight’s EPL match; John O’Shea for Sunderland and Wes Hoolahan for Norwich.

It doesnt get any bigger than Norwich Sunderland on MNF.

Gary Neville, pundit king.

Gary Neville with another masterclass tonight with a defending demonstration which included sticking the leg out to block a shot and covering the balls when defending in a wall.

Interested to see how Pilks does tonight.

Sunderland carved apart there, nice move but a bit easy. That was a nice piece of skill from Bendtner earlier on in the game.

Watched that half with the sound down while listening to some tunes. Both teams trying to pass the ball around, quite enjoyable indeed.
