Epl 2011/2012

This point is very telling. Coyle has also brought Chris Eagles in from Burnley I think. Looks like pure desperation. Like when Keane used to sign all the lads he used to play with. Heā€™s also brought in Tyrone Mears from Burnley. Blake, Eagles and Mears are barely good enough for a top half championship team.

They do seem to be missing David Wheater though.

Dunno if its been mentioned here but Sagna is goosed until the new year after breaking his leg yesterday. Any interest in running a pool as to who the next Arsenal player to suffer a long term injury will be?

The point isnā€™t telling at all. The majority of teams below the top 5 or so are full of ā€˜journeymenā€™. Bizarre point about Wheater who hasnā€™t been able to dislodge Knight and Cahill for some time and looked shit the few times I saw him last season.

Robinson is shit though. Once they get Holden back they will be alright but the likes of Davies and Jaaskleinan have seen better days maybe.

Holden came back, played one game and another issue with the knee flared up and heā€™s out for another 6 months. Heā€™s a really significant loss for them as heā€™s an excellent player. Theyā€™re left with dross like Muamba and Reo-Coker in midfield as a result.

Those two together would be negative but as individuals they are more than capable of holding their own in the EPL. They just havenā€™t started well. Two bad injuries to key players, Sturridge going back to Chelsea and there was the speculation about Gary Cahill that was no doubt unsettling. Still think there is enough decent players there to be more than safe - Petrov, Klasnic, Davies, Reo Coker, Steinsson, Cahill, Eagles etc. There is a lot of muck in the EPL. Blackburn and Wigan if they donā€™t seriously improve are certainties for the drop this season.

I wonā€™t even begin to describe how pathetic James McCarthy was for Wigan at the weekend. This lads agent is truly a star. Aside from him they are terrible. Their keeper who for some reason Coyle sold saved them from a hiding against a very mediocre Villa side at the weekend. Terrible at the back where Gary Caldwell continues to embarrass himself, Ben Watson is their best midfielder and Franco Di Santo up front.

Mother Theresa has stood down as Chairman of Sunderland. Pity he didnā€™t sack Bruce first.

Seems an unusual step. Is he involved in ownership as well or was he purely chairman?

Heā€™s taking on another as yet unspecified role at the club, The Dunph.

The owner Ellis Short is assuming the Chairman position.

Its been mentioned in the past that heā€™s to move to City in some role, even heard it alluded to there again on OTB.

Heā€™s taking on an international development role. Think he lives in Ireland most of the time so didnā€™t really have time to be a full-time chairman and your man Ellis Short has taken over decision making really.

I heard the City interest too MBB but he was rumoured to take over from Gary Cook and Iā€™d imagine thatā€™s highly unlikely.

No Rooney for Utd, Gerrard starts for Liverpool.

De Gea, Smalling, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Jones, Fletcher, Giggs, Park, Young, Welbeck.

Reina, Kelly, Enrique, Carragher, Skrtel, Lucas, Adam, Gerrard, Downing, Kuyt, Suarez

Uniteds bench is more impressive- Rooney, Nani, Anderson, Hernandez, Carrick, Valencia and Lindegaard.

United are getting hammered today. :frowning:

Cā€™maaaaaan! http://www.football-wallpapers.com/emoticons/liverpool/003.gif

Just had some of Liverpool at 2-1.Into 7-4 now.You should always pick your strongest team. But Fergie probably has a trick up his sleeve.

The real match will be Fergie and Kennys drinking contest after the match.

Utd havent started awfully well here.

Come back Andy Gray, all is forgiven.

Any link for the match lads?

Ray Wilkins sounds like heā€™s lecturing an U-12ā€™s team everytime he opens his trap.

Iā€™d have Adam off and Carroll on in the second half. Downing is practically useless trying to send high crosses into Suarez. Rio has him well marked so far as well.

Loads of them on:
