As a very biased Sunderland fan, I can understand how Defoe isn’t there. While I do think he’s much better than the Rasher fella and in much better form that Rooney, I don’t think the former will end up in the final squad and Rooney, as captain, was always going to go.
The thing is all those strikers are very similar type players, I thought he might bring that scumbag Carroll as a different option.
