An awful lot of nonsense for one post there.

Of course eyebrows are more raised when it’s in the box. It has a much more material impact on the outcome of the game. You’ve taken an old cliche and misinterpreted it or misapplied it badly. The very reason for the injustice is because of the reward given to it.

And of course contact doesn’t mean there’s a foul anyway. There was clearly no foul at all. He dived. He may have brushed the defender on the way down but it’s of no relevance to whether the defender fouled him or not.

That’s your opinion, which is undoubtedly coloured by you wanting Denmark to win. To use another cliche, opinions are like arseholes, everybody has them.

It couldn’t be overturned by VAR because there wasn’t a clear error, as there was at least some contact. The ref should have let play continue and let VAR decide.

A dive is a foul

Damien Duff dived for the penalty against Spain in '02. He dived to manufacture contact. It was still a foul.

Rudi Voller dived with five minutes left in a World Cup final to win a penalty that won the World Cup. There was still contact. It was still a foul.

Klinsmann dived in the same match and got Pedro Monzon sent off. It was still a very bad foul.
