Yes shocking and all as this was for the fans to watch the reality is he was going to have a heart attack some time and if he had to have a heart attack he had it in the best possible place with medical attention straight away and defibrillators in use within minutes. If he’d had that heart attack at home he would probably be dead by now.

I’ve played with a guy who had a banger mid game and another game 2 years ago called off as an opponent had a nasty seizure just before kick off. Both pulled through afterwards.
A school mate of mine was out farming with his brothers two weeks ago.
They looked back and he had collapsed.

There was an incident earlier in the game which seemed completely innocuous at the time but I’m wondering now was it more significant than it seemed. Eriksen was chasing back near the half way line when Finland were in possession. He seemed to pull up a bit, I thought for a second he might have pulled his hamstring. I think he remained in shot and walked around a little bit and then Finland lost the ball, it came to him and he turned in possession and passed it on so I thought no more if it. I’d guess this happened probably 10 or 15 minutes before he collapsed.

We were away years ago. A lad collapsed at pool. My mate knew CPR and worked away on him for 20 minutes til paradmedics arrived. His arms went black and we assumed he was a goner but he pulled through.
