Itâs a bit of joke tbh. Two draws in the Ukraine group today and then youâll have one team eliminated on four points despite other teams qualifying on 3 points.
Not knowing if you qualify at the end of the group is silly as well.
All in all theyâve made a complete balls of the
Competition.
Youâd be as well off going 32 teams and having a proper structure.

Romania have a GD of +1, Slovakia are 0, Belgium +1 and Ukraine -2. Basically means Ukraine have to win. The rest will be safe enough with draws.

To be fair, this is a new team really, the âgolden generationâ is gone. Lukaku & KDB are still there but the rest of the starting team were never part of that team really.
Witsel & Vertonghen havenât even come on, I donât think? Courtois, Hazard x2, Nainggolan, Alderweireld, Vermaelen, Fellaini, Dembele, Chadli, Mertens are all gone.
Semi-final of the World Cup was decent in 2018. Beating England and Brazil en route. They were unfortunate to run into a good Italian team when they were actually playing well at the Euros in 2021.
The current team is a fine side in its own right on paper. A very strong front 3, KdB pulling the strings with Onana and Tielemans protecting the slightly shaky defence. Likes of Castagne and Faes arenât a bad supporting cast. Then you have Carrasco and Openda off the bench. Yet again though it isnât panning out that way in real life.
I would say that, even on paper, theyâre a good bit behind the very best teams (France, Germany, Spain, England, Portugal etc). I think theyâre firmly a second tier side on paper; Faes is an absolute bombscare and they have a few watery enough characters in the team.
And, in reality, they donât seem to have much of an identity. At the last World Cup, they had just gone a tournament too far with an aging team but this is pretty much a new team and theyâve been okay at times but certainly wonât have struck fear into the hearts of anyone.
Possibly lacking a couple of attacking full-backs to really overload in the wide positions, Theate looks like a centre-back playing full-back and I feel like teams are doubling up on their wingers a little too easily.
